Palace Hotel Omiya — Restaurant in Saitama

We went to Omiya to visit the Omiya Bonsai Museum and renowned bonsai farms. I would have given the hotel another star, but the front desk service was much to be desired. When we checked in on July 13, felt like the gentleman thought he was doing us a favor. No greeting, no smile. Unusual for Japan hotels. AND, don't lose your key! The same gentleman charge us 1,500Y for a replacement.|| HOWEVER, the Housekeeping was 5 stars. We stayed there for 4 nights and everyday, the room was immaculate and made up on time. We loved the pump bottle liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner. The hotel was very convenient to the Omiya Station (3 minute walk). The train will take you to Omiya Koen or Tobu Station in 5-10 minutes to bonsai heaven. We had a Corner Double Room (#812), the view was great. Hotel is right across the street from SOGO Department store. 13 floors of shopping which includes 1 floor of restaurants! Great food! As for the breakfast, it was good, not great, and not worth $35USD. If we go again, would look at...

Really nice hotel. Superbly clean. Service was nice. Limited interaction though. The hotel was very surface nice and clean. When looked at as a frequent traveler, you can see that it has been through life. Scuffs on baseboards and wall hallways show the experience this hotel has had. It is a phenomenal location, though. Conbinis across and in the same building. Donki is nearby along with a Gigo, train station, Truffle mini (get the truffle salt croissant, thank me later), and much more. We spent our last night in Japan staying in this very convenient hotel after our trip to Nikko. Location is extremely convenient. There is direct bus to Narita airport from less than 5 mins away. Of cos you will have to buy ticket in advance from Arche. Hotel staffs are very helpful in checking in and out. We have sent our luggage to this hotel before our arrival and we receive our luggage without any problem. Walking distance from Omiya station west exit.
