The hotel we were staying at recommended this place for Mongolian BBQ that my spouse wanted to do.
ATMOSPHERE: Get ready to smell of smoke and oil as the venting system wasn’t the greatest. And, that was with just four other patrons in the 22-seat, self-grilling eatery. Seating is a tight squeeze communal counter or traditional low tops.
A bucket is filled with hot bricks and your convex grill top placed over it. The heat lasted well past our hour long meal.
MENU: Lamb, organ meat, poultry and seafood.
BEVERAGE: House White Wine Such a tiny pour though it was a blessing in disguise as it had a horrible, watered-down taste.
FOOD: A piece of fat is used for oiling the grill throughout your meal, along with a tasty soy-based sauce for dipping.
Potato Salad This small ramekin is a forced upon app and automatically added to your bill. Though mixed with mayo, it was bland and in need of salt.
Cabbage and Shiodare Sauce The spouse ordered “salad” and this is what we got. I’ve never had just chopped cabbage as a salad, but for what it was worth, the dressing was savory delish and was topped with shio fuke konbu.
Assorted Mongolian Mutton Barbecue (for two) Be forewarned since we weren’t even with English menus, that this assortment comes with just three cuts of lamb. The other two are intestines and hearts, and some sliced green onions. Such a waste as we didn’t touch the organs.
Lamb Chops (2 pcs.) We were still hungry so we added these thick-cut chops. I’m happy to report that there was no gaminess to any of the lamb cuts.
Steamed Potatoes With Butter A single Yukon Gold spud was cut into fourths and topped with butter, seaweed flakes and shio fuke konbu. Very good.
Assorted Vegetables They forgot to bring this out yet it was still on our bill, but was removed after we said something.
SERVICE: The male server was friendly and professional.
OVERALL: We paid about $68 USD for this meal. Quality meats, good side dishes. Order a la carte to avoid...
Read moreVisited the main restaurant here in Susukino as I heard good things about their branch in Furano. Made a reservation through Gurunavi on the only plan meant for a solo diner but turned out that it is not valid after arriving at the restaurant: however the same item is still available on the menu and the signboards outside were advertising the same item at discounted prices. Foreigners are shown an international version of the menu and there is slightly different menu in Japanese. The featured item was at full price in the English menu.
It got off to it less than positive impression from the booking and getting different menus. I ordered the same item that I have reserved for : an assortment of premium lamb meats. It was generally good. There is also a cover charge of about 300-400 JPY as standard in izakaya style eateries (you get a potato salad)
However, I think I had better lamb elsewhere at with more competitive prices. Nonetheless, if you want lamb that doesn't have too much of a gamey taste, this is decent. The innards are also served in the platter and they are delicious as well.
The diners are a mix of Japanese and tourists. As such, some might find this place a little too touristy as well (with...

★☆☆☆☆ The Worst Dining Experience of My Life – Do Not Go
Out of all the restaurants I’ve ever been to, this was by far the worst service I’ve experienced. I genuinely regret coming here, and I absolutely do not recommend this place to tourists or first-time visitors.
First of all, the meat, which didn’t even require cooking, just plating, took 30 minutes to arrive after we ordered. Other dishes took over 15 minutes. When we asked for rice, we were told they couldn’t cook any. And when it finally came out, it was just rock-hard rice that tasted like it had been microwaved from frozen.
The only thing that was decent was the meat. Everything else, from the sides, to the quality, to the service, was far below the price we paid and just awful.
We were told that vegetables do not come with the meat, so we ordered a separate vegetable platter. But when the food arrived, we found bean sprouts under the meat, and the “vegetable platter” turned out to be just more bean sprouts. It felt like they just doubled the sprouts and charged us extra. Honestly, it felt like a rip-off.
Worst of all was the attitude of the short-haired waitress. She was cold, rude, and made no effort to offer decent service. While customers were still waiting for food, she spent most of her time chatting with regulars. When we asked questions, her tone was dismissive and unhelpful. To be honest, she would be better off working in the kitchen, away from customers, because her presence made the experience even more uncomfortable.
The entire atmosphere felt like regular customers were prioritized, and tourists or newcomers were treated as an afterthought. It left a really bad impression.
This place is not worth your time, your money, or your patience. Do not go. You’ll walk away with...
