Dalsegno — Restaurant in Sapporo

We were wanting something a bit different for dinner besides Japanese food so we ran into this place on our search. We tried 2 pizzas and a glass of wine each, one red, one white. The first pizza we tried was the Salame with red sauce and the other, ricotta cheese with shrimp and corn with a blanco sauce. Both were very delicious but also quite different than each other. The Salame being a bit spicy and salty in a good way. And the other one being more sweet and clean tasting. Both very good pizzas and baked to perfection. The wines were also quite nice. The red tasting like a typical Italian red wine, light, slightly dry and smooth. The white one tasted like a white wine from British Columbia in Canada. Quite tasty if you ask me. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something other than Japanese foods it’s Neapolitan...

A slice of Naples in Hokkaido - I had a craving for Japanese Italian and was happy to find this spot. If I were to fault it for anything, is that it is so closely like Naples and not much Japanese - think margherita and Bolognese, no uni pasta.

But damn, it does it so well. The perfect chew in the dough, flavorful tomato sauce, melty mozzarella cheese (hopefully sourced locally) - definitely a knife and fork pizza. The Bolognese comes with a pasta with the perfect al dente, coated with a beautiful meaty sauce.

Lunch offers pizza or pasta lunch sets which comes with a small salad and drink. They also have the option of half half pizzas for additional cost. One of the greatest Neapolitan pizza places in the world. Literal perfection. Crust is chewy, crisp and with the right amount of char. The funghi was loaded with garlic and the margarita red sauce was heavenly. This is pizza done well, with high quality ingredients and attention to the details.

Very few Neapolitan places reach this calibre, an absolute must try when you visit Sapporo. Easy to see why this pizza wins awards and very well deserved. I will be dreaming about this pizza.

The staff are also incredibly helpful and accommodating, and very accessible for English speakers.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Every visit to Sapporo needs a meal...
