Curry bread was fantastic!
When my dad arrived he planned to dine in and was offered an English menu which we appreciate as visitors who know very little Japanese.
He ultimately decided to do takeout instead and picked out some items that he thought were interesting.
We split each item in our hotel room.
The first thing we tried was curry bread. I have only ever had curry bread once before but this was much better and I want to get it again.
We had a yellowtail sandwich which was good but honestly I just wasn’t in the mood for it so after a bite to see what it was like dad had the rest.
The last item was a doughnut that had powdered sugar and a creamy custard filling. It was excellent but I did have to pull out a small strip of clear plastic film from my mouth on my first bite. Must be a normal thing here to have that plastic film on exposed cream, but I didn’t expect it so check for plastic film on any exposed cream before taking a bite so you don’t make my mistake 😅.
Update: we went back and dined in the next day. We got melon bread with chocolate chips, a potato and cheese bread, curry bread, curry and cheese bread, bread with corn on top, and a hot dog. I had warm milk and my dad had a latte.
It was all amazing and the curry bread was even better dining in than as takeout but fantastic either way ❤️
We also picked up more as takeout after dining in. I’ll include those in the photos as well. Again they are all fantastic.
My favorite savory item was the curry bread (with or without cheese) and it’s best warm in my opinion. The potato and cheese bread was nearly tied for my favorite savory item (also nice warm). My favorite sweet item I tried was the chocolate chip melon bread which goes very nicely...
Read moreIf you find yourself in Sapporo with a craving for something truly special, you must make a pilgrimage to Lemon Bakery. Forget everything you thought you knew about bakeries—this place is in a league of its own. From the moment you step through the door, the aroma is an intoxicating blend of butter, sugar, and freshly baked goodness. But the real stars are the pastries. I can confidently say the treats here are pastries to die for. They are masterpieces of texture and flavor, each one a perfect balance of crispy, airy, flaky, and...
Read moreNice little cafe with great sandwiches and delicious coffee. The service staff is super friendly and it’s also nice to stay for a coffee instead of take-away.
Only thing which we really disliked: they are using way too much plastic bags, packing every single tiny thing in a separate plastic bag. It would be really good if they tried to reduce their plastic usage, it’s super...
