Restaurant Sakakura — Restaurant in Shirahama

Had the pleasure of enjoying dinner and lunch. Definitely the best food I found during my stay, I was tempted to go back a 3rd time. I had their dinner course (9500, both fish and meat entree) and their lunch course. I wanted to go back to try their a la carte dishes, but that will have to be my next trip here (meat and seafood curry both looked interesting). Food was presented beautifully, chef was friendly and explained what was on each dish and they even remembered me when I came back for lunch. We went to this restaurant a week ago and ordered a full course dinner. We found both the food and service was nothing but top class. The chef is certainly a top professional and he prepared his food wholeheartedly. I have been to many fine restaurants in North America and Europe but this one is certainly the best among the rest. I would like to thank the Chef and his team for such an enjoyable evening. We shall visit this restaurant again the next time we come to Shirahama.

We visited this lovely restaurant 5 years ago in 2018, and I submitted a 5 stars review then. We came to Shirahama today just to re-visited our friend. We had a full course dinner and I must say that the master chef has elevated his professionalism to a new height which is to me a very difficult undertaking considering the very high level we found it to be at five years ago. Each and every course (including the refreshing yuzu sorbet) was nothing but a sheer indulging experience. The high light of the course is to me is the Kobe fillet with is prepared in a most prefect way. One point I must stress is that the master chef attended to the tinniest details to ensure the whole experience is one that could not be easily forgotten. I must congratulate the master chef and his colleagues for the hard work they put in. I will certainly come to Shirahama just to visit Sakakura...

We stayed in Shirahama two days, and tried two times for their dinner set. Food for two nights were different, and wonderful French / western dinner experience. Chef is professional, and cook in front of bar table ... set dinner must try. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere created...
