豆の湯(コーヒー) — Restaurant in Shirahama

Such a lovely cafe! It is same family as ミルク＆ビアホール九十九(薪窯ピッツァ) so we had to stop and visit. I wish we had stopped by before because it was so good! We arrived after noon so they were out of some things, we ordered omelet sandwiches and a latte and drip coffee. This was the best omelet sandwich we’ve had since arriving in Japan. Very filling and served with warm omelet instead of cold like everywhere else we’ve tried. Just a little sauce on the bread and a bottle of sauce to try on it. Perfect egg sandwich. The drip coffee was very good, and the latte was perfect. Of course we had to order a piece of chocolate cake. It is the same cake as at the restaurant so we knew we’d like it. Next time we visit Shirahama we will stop here again to try other things on menu, and we will sit upstairs with all the books...

Place with cozy and warm vibes, do drop by if you're ever in the area. The interior of the place looked so eclectic with various curated objects from all around the world. Some cool jazz/ Miles Davis was also playing in the background when we visited. Coffee was good, had a cup of single origin beans from Peru and one of their house blend. The beef curry rice was tasty and the desserts (chocolate gateau cake & pudding) were not too sweet and delicious. Adding on to the whole experience, the waitress (who we met again after frequenting their bar yesterday) was super friendly and kind. Menu was all in Japanese but it was no problem at all since she fluently helped us out by providing recommendations and conversed with...

We stopped for lunch here when we just happened to be walking by. It must have been their Italian day as only pasta was available for lunch.

The menu options appeared to be very limited, but this turned out to be a good thing as each of the 3 dishes we ordered was delicious - I believe doing a few dishes really well is much better than offering lots of dishes that are mediocre. The pasta was served with an amazing cold soup (I think it was pumpkin), some fresh crusty bread & some really tasty fresh figs. We all ate everything that was served.

Staff were very welcoming & the atmosphere was good too.
