Dochiraika — Restaurant in Takamatsu

The food, service, and atmosphere was impeccable. We had the charcoal grilled salted mackerel which was grilled to perfection, crispy, and fragrant. We originally only ordered one sashimi set, but ended up ordering a second because it was so good. I have had lots of sashimi in my life and this was one of the best quality for the money sashimi I've had. It was very fresh and tasty. My favourite was the Aji sashimi (Horse Mackerel, I asked to confirm and the waitress even brought a book over to show me!). The waitresses were very kind and accommodating - the a la carte menu was not translated (you may need to ask for it) but with Google translate it is very easy to order. The chef (owner?) was very kind and I noticed he came all the way to the exit to send every customer off when he could. It was beyond our expectation and we felt very well taken care of. We came for a late dinner (8pm) and the atmosphere was very quiet and serene. I thought we were the only ones here, but to my surprise 3 groups left while we were eating! It was a very comfortable and cozy environment. I am so glad I randomly found this restaurant on Google Maps, it is a must visit...

This restaurant offers luch with grilled fishes (you can choose the type of fish), 1.100¥, or fish sashimi, 1.400¥. Both come along a set containing rice, soup and some vegetables We, a couple, ordered one of each, the grilled fish was a meckrel. The grilled fish was well seasoned and the portion was generous. The amount of fish in the sashimi set was also generous. The sashimi fishes although tasted fresh, most of them did not deliver much flavor, probably the chosen species were not the most flavorfull. Chef Masahiro Nishino presented a series of original and inspired dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The atmosphere is sophisticated and relaxed, welcoming and friendly.
