No wonder it's a top 5000 restaurant on tabelog, a top food review site in Japan! The taste buds are left super pleased!
It's a standard omakase course for everyone (15k yen), unless you go with a big group. Having tried many sushi restaurants including the michelin starred in Tokyo, I must say their small dishes are just impeccable!!!
The sushi honestly though is not mind blowing particularly the rice ball part (as you may tell from the photos). A big part of sushi is the rice ball and it's a skill that's super hard to master given that you have to deliver consistently good quality for every piece of sushi you make. The restaurant is just the chef himself running most of the cooking part with only one assistant for 20 or more customers. He's been super tied up and perhaps that's why it's been compromised.
I'd still give 5 stars overall as I think the quality and quantity is there, with this price. Do make a booking...

I visited in September, drawn by the fact that this place ranks in the top 3 on Tabelog. The food was delicious, but an extremely unpleasant incident occurred, compelling me to leave a Google review for the first time ever.
First, the unagi sushi I received, as well as the one served to the Hong Kong woman next to me, was much smaller than the one given to my boyfriend. To make matters worse, the larger piece was initially placed on my plate but was then promptly taken away and given to my boyfriend instead, leaving me with the smaller piece. We paid the same amount of money—no small amount either, considering the meal cost us 20,000 yen each. At first, I wondered if women were simply given smaller portions, but then I noticed that the Japanese locals, both men and women, were all served the same larger size that my boyfriend received.
What was that pathetic excuse for a piece that you gave me? I ate it, but seriously… what’s going on? It was utterly insulting, but since my Japanese isn't fluent and we were on vacation, we decided to just tolerate it. But the situation got worse when they started asking us and the Hong Kong woman where we were from. Despite knowing we were Korean and she was from Hong Kong, they kept mixing it up, making rude remarks in broken Chinese to us and asking the Hong Kong woman something like "Masitseo?" in a mocking tone.
This was blatant discrimination. We ordered plenty of drinks and spent a total of 52,000 yen, but never did I expect to face such discrimination while trying to enjoy a pleasant trip. Is this what they call racism? The food might have been good, but I would neither recommend this place nor...
Read moreDid not make a reservation, chef was gracious enough to offer my wife and I a seat upstairs for Omakase. The meal was like a beautiful symphony with a strong start to introduce the type of sushi Kagawa is famous for. When we thought we were about done, more dishes were served with even more mind blowing flavors. The sweetest uni was served. Then the most beautiful tuna. Finishing off with a well balanced savoury sardine. The control of umami in each dish is testiment to the chef's experience. This was an unexpected discovery that we were fortunate enough...
