クレソン — Restaurant in Takayama

Came here in late November 2023, roughly 1hr 20 minutes before closing (according to Google), meaning ~2pm. We were the only customers. We were immediately greeted and warned that it was cash-only, and menus were only in Japanese - which was fine for us. We planned to use Google Translate. I ordered a Large Seafood Pizza and my Wife ordered a Cheese/Chicken dish. Both were tasty!

The food took what felt like quite a while to arrive, but it didn't seem unusual for a small venue that probably wasn't even expecting anymore customers that day. They also frequently filled out water glasses, and the water had lemon in it! (Awesome)

This venue also has a garden outside that we could look at while we dined. It was very pretty...

This was such an interesting cultural experience. The owner doesn't really speak english, and seemed unfriendly at the beginning, but she ended up being so cute and caring. She even offered us one dessert since we were sharing everything.

The food itself is rather simple, but very well put together.

Small portion of steak but yummy. I ordered 200g of steak and not full. The taste of the beef is sweet and has a certain smell. The steak has Strong garlic smell. The lady asked if we like garlic or not. We said ok. If she asked again, I could hv changed my mind lol.
