Amazing food, we had the Halal Hida beef and beef stew from the Muslim menu, the marbled beef is honestly the best beef I've ever eaten in my life. Definitely worth the visit. The staff were so kind, we arrived 15 minutes after our reservation time at closing and they still catered for us. Akane and Ai were great to us and the chef, Takamitsu, was also very kind. We really appreciated the atmosphere and vibe and visited twice as a result. Highly recommended, especially for Muslim travellers. Just a side note as well, this is the only halal hida beef restaurant we were able to find, and it's standard is very high so you won't be disappointed. The other restaurants like Aji-no-Yohei do not have halal...

Takayama is known for their Traditional Houba sushi. We bought 3 beef and 1 mushroom version and ate at the shop. It was delicious beyond my expectations! I could have eaten 3 more! The restaurant also serves Hida beef sushi and beautifully presented regular sushi. The husband and wife team run this small but clean, stylish restaurant. You can also buy Hida beef sushi to go. The wife was especially tentative. At the near by table, a toddler knocked his dad's beer, and the wife not only quickly wipe the table clean, but also bought a new beer for dad. I agree this restaurant deserves a good rating. The lunch set is inexpensive and served quickly. We ordered the stew Hida beef rice bowl, it was so delicious that we emptied the bowl with nothing left. The assorted seafood platter is of right portion, fresh and satisfying our craving for sashimi. The staff is friendly and courteous, makes every effort to answer my queries with the limited English language skill. It is not big however the conducive environment makes me feel comfortable.
