Hida Gyuman Honpo — Restaurant in Takayama

Of all the shops I've been to, this is by far the worst customer reception I had in Japan. Cold and very unprofessional when taking our orders. Even pressured us to take what we ordered quickly. Also they were not allowing us to take pictures. Like what?!! We are tourists. Obviously, we take pictures. Even though we are foreigners, we speak the Japanese language so language barrier is not a problem. Now, going to the main review of the food. My group and I ordered the Hida gyu man. We expected the premium Hida gyu we just had in another shop in the morning market of Miyagawa (高山市宮川朝市). The hida gyu man we had instead was full of veggies and not the beef. There was beef but not as what they seem to advertise. Disappointed. Therefore, I would rather take the the konbini's niku man anyday than order again an overpriced 普通 tasting "hida gyu man" from this shop. And yes, I won't be typing this message and wasting my time on this review if I was satisfied but I am not. It is the bad experience for me that made this 1☆. Shop owner is very rude. Me and my friends sat on the sidewalk’s bench that in front of another closed store next to his shop but he came out to shouts and evicted us. Even though there is no another guest around there ( we went there on Monday. Takayama is look like ghost town) On the way back to parking lot. We bought his beef bun and it was so tasteless. All we can see is the veggie and little ground beef.Overpriced!!! Don’t waste your money!!! I accept that this man made me feel so bad with this city....

We bought the hida gyuman and it was not what we have expected. The bun was tasteless and very oily. I could hardly taste the meat, it is more of a vegetable man. You are better off buying nikuman in the convenience store. And the worst customer service ever! The staff/cashier just suddenly changed mood when we came (grumpy face) and didn’t even say ‘arigatou gozaimasu’ just like what she did with the Japanese couple before us. ☹️ Overhyped. It is not...
