Kichijoji is full of restaurants offering both Japanese & Indian style curries, but one of my favorites is Yume Taj Mahal because they have friendly service, a great location, of course good food, but is also suitable for dog owners too! 😆🐕

On a day with beautiful weather, there is nothing better than enjoying lunch on the outside terrace in the company of your beloved pet. 🥰

Having already walked a lot, I had a big appetite so decided to go for the Ladies's Set Lunch with cheese nan (despite the name, men are also welcome to order this). 🧀

Coming with 2 curries (from a choice of 7), plain or cheese nan, hot or cold drink & tandoori chicken tikka, this is amazing value and you are invited to select how hot you want your curries (levels 1-5) 🌶🥵🔥

I decided on butter chicken & vegetable curry and basked in the warm sun while waiting. Needing a well deserved break, my dog soon fell asleep on the fake grass carpet. 😪

The curries were rich with unami & spices, the tandoori chicken a great way to switch up flavors and refresh the palate. The highlight of this dish is undoubtedly the huge cheese nan, which pairs so well with the curry and has a luxurious melty feel in the mouth. 🤩

Thai food staples, such as Gapao, Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Khao Pad & Green Curry are also available from their menu, ensuring you will never get bored. 🇹🇭

The owners always show great hospitality, no matter how busy it gets and the food keeps me coming back for more. 👨🏻‍🍳🙌🏼

Updating from a couple of years ago. Prices seem to be a bit higher. Still a good value with refills on the naan or rice. Still no store Wi-Fi, but a couple of free Wi-Fi signals are available, though they didn't seem to work well. I'm willing to push it to a high four stars now.

Narrow layout with 30 seats inside and 5 out front. Located next to a hungry workman's dive just around the corner. Friendly Nepali staff. Doesn't appear to have any Wi-Fi. Music is kind of upbeat pop? Covid precautions not so strong. Interesting menu with a bit of breadth.

The base of the curry of the day was a little thick, and the spiciness was strong. Today was mushroom and chicken. Fairly standard naan and salad. The naan was skillfully cooked but not a notable flavor. Calling it an even four...

We didn't plan to come here, but decided to try as we were looking for a less-crowded restaurant where we can feed our 11 months daughter. We then decide to order the kapao rice for me and the tom yum pho set for my wife. As a side dish, we also ordered 4 pieces of tandoori chicken. I can say it exceeds our expectation that we consider this restaurant as a must-visit place for lunch in Kichijoji area. I have stayed for about 5 years in Tokyo and will say this place serves tasty (& original) Asian foods...
