Don’t get down on Japanese department store food courts. They are immensely better here than in the West. The food courts have a great amount of variety and each restaurant provides a great meal at a very sensible price.

We were seated by a very kind server and given some hot tea to warm ourselves while we took a quick look again at the menu.

We both ended up ordering the same set menu which, by the way, comes with unlimited rice and miso soup. Amen!

The set menu was slices of ox tongue and pork loin grilled, grated yam paste, salad, rice, and miso soup. The smell of the grilled meat when it came to the table made my tummy rumble.

The grilled meats were tender, juicy, and had that lingering smell of charcoal. The grated yam paste was something that I really enjoyed as I ate more of it. Although it looks slimy and gooey, the yam paste compliments the rice along with a few drops of soy.

The meal was so comforting and gave us energy for the rest of the night out...

The sign looked tasty and there was no queue as I was passing by, so decided to drop in impromptu for a quick bite. Everything was delicious! The beef tongue set came with 4x pieces, while the tongue dish by itself came with 8x pieces. The slices were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and although they don't look it, were deliciously fatty. The slightly pickled side salad was a good balance. The chicken nanban was also great, very crispy with a great tangy sauce + tartar sauce that goes so well with rice. I think they used breast pieces. Staff were friendly and they offered an English menu too. The male staffs that are working at 6th of August 2023 need to be replace/ fire immediately, they are way too lazy, and show 0 customer service. My family were there at 8.40pm, we were rejected immediately, with excuse the shop is closing, while it stated the closing time is 10pm!! And then minutes later, 2 other japanese customers accepted. Totally terrible service...
