Loved this hotel and its location in Ginza - restaurants, convenience stores and easy access to the main shopping street! Room was comfortable with 2 double beds and a bathroom with a shower and tub beside it so you could take a hot soak after tons of walking. Not much luggage space - enough for one medium on the floor and 2 hand carry trolleys. Amenities (excluding shower cap but stretchy hairbands and hair ties were provided including skin care ) were available in the 3rd floor Lobby and toothbrushes were in the bathroom. Rooms are not cleaned daily and you need to request cleaning by attaching a magnetic notice on the door.||There is a 7/11 and another store located directly across from the entrance for ATM and all days snacks. There are also several restaurants across from it. We enjoyed the restaurant located on B2 of the subway station (elevator access is available) which was full of locals.||Our stay would have been perfect except for our last encounter with the Front Desk. Checkout is 11am so we came down at 930 to have our luggage stored while we did a last minute run to Bic Camera. We informed the Front Desk that we would be back by 1130 and head straight to the airport. We arrived at 1120 to collect our luggage (we took a taxi from Bic Camera and asked driver to bring us to Haneda after collecting our luggage from the hotel). When we gave our tag to get our luggage the girl at the Front Desk insisted on charging us a late checkout fee. We tried to reason with her that the man who accepted our luggage never informed us that we would be charged a late fee after we informed him that we would be back by 1130. ||It would have been nice to be given some leeway so the girl's refusal left a bad feeling after a...
Read moreVery good location. But was given the smoking room when booking confirmed non-smoking room. We have multiple bookings for 5 nights Horrible experience with front desk KIM who showed no interested in helping to fix the issue and quickly pointed finger to the booking agency. Thanks goodness that another gentleman staff stepped in and was able to move us to non-smoking room the next day while showing his sympathy. Once Kim was made aware of the room change, she was irritated as of we just took a non-smoking room out of her own home to move in. She decided to give us the key for 2 days of of the 4 remaining days. We had to ask another staff to review the booking and correct the issue. And thats not even the end of it. We booked room with breakfasts. Kim didnt give us vouchers. When we confronted her, she said "talk to your agent, there is no breakfast". We even showed he the booking that said room includes breakfast, wifi. Kim said maybe it meant only wifi. We have to pay for breakfast. We had to call Agoda to confirm for KIM to release the breakfast vouchers we paid for at booking. My husband left the key on the check-in counter. I came back in 3 minutes to grab it. KIM demanded me to wait the the long check-in line when I didnt even need her assistance of any sort. We can live KIM's rude attitute, no greetings, no smiles, no thankyou, no help but why went extra mile to make our stay so horrific. What happend to hospitality? How an individual like KIM is qualified for such customer service job? My 2 stars are for the gentleman at front desk who understands and take pride of his job to assist customers. KIM, if I can give negative star, I would. So be aware my fellow travellers while booking with...
Read moreWe stayed at the Daiwa Roynet Ginza for two nights during our stay in Tokyo. I would describe the hotel as a pragmatic option. It’s good if you want to be central in Tokyo, but you pay almost exclusively for location. For about $250 per night that we paid, our overall feelings are mixed.||The key strength of the hotel is its location. Ginza is the perfect starting points for tourists that want to discover all of Tokyo, because it’s centrally located and well connected. And as this hotel is right in the middle of Ginza, that was perfect for us. ||Weaknesses: |The hotel is somewhat worn out. In particular, the room interior was not well maintained. The overall appearance, which mainly consists of gray and brown colors, was also not very appealing. |- Beyond the room, the hotel does not really offer any attractive facilities, such as a bar, etc. In essence, you pay for your room.|- Rooms are minimally small. We first had a room that was so small we could not even open our two suitcases. I understand that rooms in Tokyo are very small, but be careful about the smallest room category if you’re traveling as a couple. |- Smoking rooms: watch out if you are not a smoker! We were first assigned a room where smoking is allowed (something that is very rare outside of Japan anyway). The room smelled absolutely horrible, and as we could not stay in that room due to the smell, we asked for a room change. Unfortunately, we could only change to a higher category because all other non-smoking rooms were booked, and the hotel demanded a surcharge for our change. So be careful here if you do not want to stay in a room that smells...
