I don't think the price is expensive, but the food is poor and fresh compared to the photos. At the time of payment, there were many drinks written on the slip that I didn't ask for. Because when we pointed it out, they corrected the slip as usual without apology. And the slip that was handed over again had a different drink written on it. Warning higher prices on English menus - My friend was visiting Tokyo so I though this would be fun. We went to the first izakaya on the left specializing in Hokkaido food. （北海道）　the food was fine though not great maybe a little westernised for visitors. However we ordered from the Japanese menu though when the bill arrived they had charged us on the prices on the English menu. Be warned you pay a tourist tax instead of 899 yen for some squid they were going to charge us over 1400! Just had to write a review as someone who has actually traveled in this region extensively. I see countless reviews here complaining about getting charge for an appetizer they didn’t order. This is a table charge. The food isn’t entirely meant to be eaten, and the charge for taking a table in a busy dining district. Some places only charge you this if you don’t get food. Either way, this charge people are complaining about is typical in every yokocho in Tokyo, and every place tells you about the charge beforehand.
