Had the worst experience in Japan for a ramen.
The staff were not friendly at all, I can understand ramen place especially 'high-rated' ones like this can be stressful, but banging on cups and menu sheets right on the counters in front of customers are truly a head down especially here in Japan.
Waited for my ramen for about 20mins, while others came after me were served before me, right next to me, but with no explanations.
So the service was totally a mess. A lot of tourists come visit for the rate and reviews, but it's not worth coming especially when it has to queue.
The dandan ramen as in 'Chinese style', was totally fusion by Japanese, which is soybean sauce base soup with a dash of hot sauce. And it's greasy ah. So basically has no umami inside of it.
And last but not least, since they only accept cash, which is apparently they will have 'mistakes', and charge you another 200yen because, who knows why.
Considering this first visit experience, it will probably be the only visit for me.
Left me confused where those rates and...
Read moreMy husband and I were so glad to find this ramen restaurant. We loved that they didn't cater to tourists and that the food was wonderful. Even though neither of us spoke or read Japanese we were able to order with the assistance of the staff. The left side of the menu indicates a spicy broth and the right side is not spicy. We both had the first spicy item and it was delicious. It contained some pork and spinach but, no egg. You have the option of with rice or without. They do not serve gyoza but, do serve a delicious steamed meat. It looked similar to dim sum. Lastly, this was the cleanest ramen restaurant we have ever been in and the best atmosphere with soft Jazz playing over head. My advise is, be adventurist and give this place a chance is located 2-3 blocks from the Imperial Palace Hotel. Beware you might see Godzilla...
Read moreFast turnaround ramen shop. Just enter the shop, they will guide you in to wait behind the eating customers while you wait for a seat. You will be seated only if everyone present in your group has arrived. They had english menu & we could have basic conversation with the waiters to order our food. Very affordable prices to select from. I ate halfway and realised that I needed to do a review for this shop hence the half eaten photos. Their gyoza is on the pricier side compared to other ramen shops but give their ramen a go! Their spicy ramen is honestly on a 1/10 spice level so don't worry too much about it! We had both their spicy & non spicy versions both are cheap & great. Their pork slices are amazing soft & juicy. Don't bother getting their chicken version just go for the...
