This place is the absolute best, it was absolutely incredible. We came here for our last night to try an authentic omakase dinner. First of all, the owners took a last minute reservation on the phone, and the restaurant was pleasantly almost empty, which means we got a pretty much private chef preparing and serving most courses personally. The ambience was so nice, quiet and intimate, with excellent service. Both the chef and the main maitre spoke good English (especially the chef) and they showed us pictures of each fish or vegetable in each dish. Each dish was artfully crafted to combine fish with an ensemble of unique flavors and styles. We are so happy we came here, we could not have chosen better from any perspective. We also had our 3 year old with us and they were super accommodating and offered a miso soup and egg omelette for him. The chef came to our table three times during the meal to talk to us and check in. Finally, even as the restaurant got busy, he personally came to see us out and waited until we left the stairs to bow and thank us one last time. I have honestly never felt so honored at any restaurant I have eaten in my whole life. I highly highly highly recommend this restaurant for the best sushi experience of your life!!! Thank you once more to chef Tetsu and all the personnel who created this climatic experience for us at the end of our Japan trip!
Ps I forgot to take pictures of some of the dishes due to being carried away by the amazing experience but...
Read moreWe came as a group of 4 with 2 kids aged 11 and 8. We truly have a wonderful experience of omakase with such good food, nihonshu and service from both chef and staff. Our kids, like the others, sometimes could be picky on food, but they ate as much as an adult and they enjoyed as much as an adult. Since we are from Hong Kong and can’t really speak Japanese, with a staff (too bad we didn’t ask her for the name) who knows and eagerly explain every food we ate and wine we drank in English, made us fully appreciate what we were having. We were lucky to taste all 3 Alamasa R, S and X type. They were served fresh and tasted very balanced. Food wise were unbeatable. I myself didn’t really fancy on maguro because of the metallic taste, but they didn’t taste any as the staff said they won’t serve frozen one. Same as the ikura, they only serve the fresh one.
We all had such a wonderful evening, and thanks to the chef and the staff, we definitely would come back and also highly recommend to our friends who love to eat and drink. It worths every penny. Totemo...
Read moreThe omakase experience offered by Sushi Tetsuya is simply one that is, to my knowledge, unrivalled. From the warm welcoming atmosphere, even to us foreigners who barely spoke japanese, to the absolutely insane meal. Everything was perfect. The selection of dishes by the chef, the pacing of each piece, the quantities, the choice of having the miso soup at the end, followed up by a warm green tea and an absolutely, mind-blowingly-delicious Miso and Sake lees ice cream. The amazement never ceased. Everything tasted perfect, and the service was absolutely flawless. I want to thank Sushi Tetsuya for not only being so kind and inviting, but just mind blowing delicious. A restaurant serving food this good would have an ego anywhere else, after all the service doesn’t matter when the food is this good. But Sushi Tetsuya combines it both. Sushi Tetsuya was the last restaurant we ate at on our trip, but i will make sure it be the first next time we are here. Thank you so much Sushi...
