Don't get me wrong; this bar has a really cozy and intimate atmosphere, and the music and decor really set a great mood. However, even though it wasn't very busy, it nonetheless took them upwards of 15-20 minutes for them to bring our drinks each time we ordered. We had each ordered the same glass of wine, so it was not a complicated order; and they also twice forgot the water we asked for. I nearly cancelled the last glass of wine because it was taking them so long that I was afraid we'd miss the last train. When I said as much, the waiter finally looked alert and brought it right away - which showed me they CAN be fast when they try. Not sure what the issue was, maybe the idea is "slow food" to help people relax, but I was not appreciative of that when the last train time is looming. All in all I enjoyed it, and will try it again, hopefully next time the service will live up to the other positive aspects of the place.
As an aside, one other thing I noticed was the beer prices. I'm a beer geek, so I go to a lot of breweries and brewpubs, so I know the rough cost that most places charge for a pint (475ml US). I was flabbergasted to see Isekadoya, a local beer, priced at 1,600 yen per HALF pint - that's outrageous. Local beers generally range from 800-1,200 a PINT at most brewpubs. It made me wonder if their wine is similarly overpriced - but as I am not a wine person, I couldn't really say; however, I did enjoy the...
Read moreThis place is a tapas bar with a confused menu - not somewhere to go for a dedicated meal at dinner. The waiter(s) we had were poor at communication and the English menu was different from the Japanese language menu in both price and offerings. Intentional or not, it was frustrating.
We asked for appetizers to be brought out first, but came at the same time as one of the entrees. The rest of the entrees came 10 minutes later.
Wine list is very small and obscure, for being a wine bar. No option to sample before investing.
Beef was tasty, but not cooked to ordered temp and drastically overpriced. Our party ended up going to a second place for dinner after getting food here.
Stop in, have a drink , and move on. This is a pretentious attempt at french/fusion cuisine. There are MUCH better places in this tourist-heavy...
Read moreGive this place a miss. 7-Eleven serves better quality food.
Menu looked promising and vibe seemed really nice, so we decided to have a drink and grab a bite to eat.
Portion sizes are small even for Japan standards. Full price beer and wine, but glasses only half full.
Food is sub-par for price and the worst we have eaten in Japan - no exaggeration.
One meal came out, second came after the bill. Couldn’t wait to leave.
Don’t be fooled by the decor, atmosphere and smartly dressed staff. Give this place a miss as there are so many other restaurants that offer far better quality food and service for a much...
