Not a bad ramen place, the flavor was pretty good, lacks a bit of umami, but I do like the ways it's presented. This was a bit overrated in my book (4.1@227) to me it would be mid 3~4 When I went, it was just 1 person, and he handled about 10 people quite efficiency.
As for food, I had the Tsukemen and Char-siu don. The noodles were not special in any way, a bit less substantial compared to many other Tsukemen noodles, BUT, they were in a konbu soup base, which did help with the lack of umami from the dipping soup portion, which was soy sauce based.
There were, from what it seemed, 4 types of char-siu. Smoked pork belly, Pork roast, Chicken breast, all sliced And pork belly in chunks, some at the bottom of the dipping soup, and I believe the same used on the char-siu don.
Would I go again? Doubt it, but if someone wanted to try it out, I wouldn't mind going again, because they apparently have one more type of soup base;...

My friends’ faces were visibly flushed, though I wasn’t sure whether it was due to the delicious ramen served hot or the hunky staff. It might be more of the latter because they couldn’t help showing their elation when he tried to start a conversation and offered a paper apron.
This review of course shouldn’t really be all about the Shohei of this ramen bar. :) The 味玉のどぐろそば had a distinct taste for a soy-sauce based bowl that wasn’t overpowering. I enjoyed the toppings, too. As for the seats, it was thoughtful of the store owner to include tables for groups instead of the usual layout of a ramen bar with 100% counter seats despite the limited space.
I’ll definitely tell visiting friends that Ramen Kurouzu is one of the ramen bars to visit...
Read moreLegitimately the best ramen of all time, let me explain why. Firstly, there was no waiting line, this easily earns four stars on its own, but it gets better. Next, the service is amazing, I waited 2-3 minutes, and boom, ramen delivered. There is a lot of variety in terms of ramen types, which includes my personal favorite, Shoyu (soy sauce flavored) Ramen. Also, the portion size is perfect, not too much, but not too little. The atmosphere is ideal, with Japanese music playing in the background to fit the ramen vibe. There are also coat hangers, as well as an option for a counter or a table. And it is positioned quite conveniently, as exit C3 to Shinjuku-sanchome is less than 100 feet (30.48 meters) away. Ramen Kurouzu is an excellent option for ramen...
