Their pork larb salad is the best I’ve had anywhere. I seriously can’t stop thinking about how delicious it was! I was a little skeptical walking in at first seeing that the cook was Iranian, but never doubt them, the Tom yum soup and salad was probably the best I had anywhere in the world! The restaurant was clean, and the service was amazing. Very foreigner friendly. It is cash only no credit cards, so remember to bring your cash! They also have...

Very out of the way Thai diner on Kamata’s Bourbon Road. Surrounded by snacks and bars, the small venue seems somehow out of place and right at home at the same time. We ordered from the 1100 yen lunch menu. The Thai ramen was excellent, with soft beef and a deep Pho-like broth. The Phad Thai could have benefited from crushed peanuts but otherwise just fine. AMIGO（アミーゴ）剛 （東京都大田区西蒲田／最寄駅：蒲田） ●ラープ・ムー（ランチメニュー） 1100円 JR蒲田駅西口から徒歩3分、東急線線路沿いの飲み屋街（バーボンロード）で2010年オープンのタイ料理レストラン「AMIGO 剛」。 イラン人のご主人とタイ人の奥さまの2人で始めたお店で、現在は息子の剛（つよし）さんがお店を継いでいる。家族経営のアットホームな雰囲気。 店名の「AMIGO」はスペイン語で「友達」という意味だが、ご主人の名前である「アミール」と息子さんの名前の「剛」を合わせたそうだ。友達がたくさん来てお店が盛り上がって欲しいという意味合いもあるらしい。 ランチメニューは1100円均一で、ガパオライス、パッタイ（焼きそば）、カオマンガイ（タイ風チキンライス）、ラープ・ムー（豚ひき肉サラダ）、タイラーメンの6種類。 店内は奥に細長い造りでテーブルが6卓並ぶレイアウト。ランチタイムは近隣住民やサラリーマンで満席になることも多い人気店。 2017年7月に一度来たことがあるけど約7年ぶりの訪問。以前来たときの印象は料理は美味しかったが、当時はランチタイムも店内喫煙可で、非喫煙者の自分にとっては居心地が良くなかったのでそれっきりになっていた。現在は店内禁煙になっている。 ランチメニューの「ラープ・ムー」をチョイス。「ラープ」というのはラオスに近いタイ東北部イサーン地方の郷土料理で、肉や魚などをハーブと唐辛子、ナンプラー、ライム、煎り米粉などで和えた料理。「ムー」は豚のこと。 注文の際にパクチーを入れてもいいかどうか確認がある。パクチー大好きなのでもちろんありで。精肉店直送の新鮮な国産豚肉を使用し、農家直送のパクチーと甘みのある赤玉ねぎなどスパイスやハーブ、野菜と和えている。煎って砕いた米を調味料として使うのも特徴で、独特の香ばしい風味とプチプチとした食感が加わる。 豚肉は粗挽きにしてから軽く煮て、余分な脂を落としているので、さっぱりしている。炒め物でも焼き物でも煮物でもないので、サラダ(和え物)という扱いになるが、立派なおかず料理。調味料や香辛料は本場タイ国から輸入したものにこだわっていて、甘・辛・酸が絡み合う複雑な味わい。 じんわりと舌がヒリヒリしてくるスパイシーさで、ボリュームも結構あるので食べ進めるとじんわりを辛さが蓄積されてくるが、付け合わせのキャベツやキュウリを食べて辛さをまぎらわす。 野菜たっぷりのスープとライス付き。スープには卵やセロリ、キクラゲなどが入っていて食べ応えがある。ライスもドカッと気前のいいボリューム。 味変用の調味料の入った容器がテーブルに置かれる。粗挽きの鷹の爪(中国天津産)、タイ酢に漬けたししとう、辛酸っぱいチリソース、砂糖の4種類。自分好みに甘味や酸味、辛味を追加してアレンジできる。
