We discovered this hidden gem by a stroll thru the shibuya area. Very local spot. About 20 seats in this establishment. The vibe is very family like.
One women is the chef and super focussed, hardly talks or even looks up but she runs the kitchen like a wizard.
Two other women running the show with charme and friendliness. This place works like a machine.
All over there was nothing of bad taste. Delicious food, good ingredients and mostly well balanced Thai flavors.
We ate the following.
Shrimp toast 6/10 A little too sweet all over and the shrimp flavor could be more present. Yet we'll toasted crispy bread. The butter on top was as mentioned a bit too sweet.
Pad Thai 9/10 The only thing I was missing compared to the streets of Bangkok was the "wokhey" the roasted aroma of the blazing wok.
Morning glory 9/10 Crispy water spinach well balanced between the garlic and oyster sauce. The dried shrimps were a nice touch with little pops of extra flavor.
Minced pork salad 9/10 Fish sauce and overall umami was present with every bite. They serve it with red cabbage which gave it an extra crunch.
Spring roll 8/10 Could have been a bit crispier but also here we'll balanced and the Thai herbs were a nice punch on the pallets.
Green curry potato salad 10/10 Outstanding dish. Tom yum flavor coated our moth from the first bite til the end. Texture of the potato's were perfect as well
Pickled eggplant 7/10 The balance of sweet and acid were a bit off, yet an amaizing starter to open your appetite.
Ga Pao rice 6/10 The dish was lacking the taste of holy basil and chilly. All over a bit underwhelming. Too much rice for the amount of stir fry.
Steam chicken 8.5/10 Juicy high quality chicken. The combination of the ginger and the chilly sauce brought the dish together. I want to highlight the ginger sauce. I guess they do it with spring onions. Really nice.
Herb sausage 7/10 The sausage could have been a bit more deeper in flavor and roast aroma. Also a bit more salt could help. But still all over an amazing bar food snack.
The place was packed as I believe it mostly will be yet we had to wait a couple of times for some attention and sat in front of our empty glasses.
But never the less they are forgiven because we had an amazing night.
I can highly recommend this...
