I came here with friends on a weekday and out of the few beef katsu places in Tokyo that I have visited, this is the best one I have been to so far. There isn’t anything particularly fancy or special about this place but if you are looking for a good honest meal, in a central location for a great price, then you should definitely make a visit here.
One thing you could do here that I couldn’t do in other beef katsu places was adjust how cooked I wanted the beef in the middle to be. Using the hot stone that is placed in front of you, you can cook the beef to your taste. It was recommended that you do so, so I tried various different times and found that 10 secs either side was the best for me. Once you have cooked the beef katsu slice, you can decide to eat it on its own or try out the various dips that they have to offer. To accompany the beef katsu you also get rice, soup, tororo (sticky white sauce like thing made out of grated yams) and cabbage. The cabbage was really fresh and I liked that they offered various dressing for it. Another thing that I really liked was the fact that if you were still hungry, you could ask for a free refill of rice! I found the meal portion to be the right amount but for some of my hungry friends, this was a really nice touch! You also got a jug of tea for your table too so we never went thirsty! My only bugbear about this place was that it was so popular that I ended up queueing quite a while when all I wanted was a quick meal. We waited about 40 minutes for a table but once seated, the food came within...

The main room was cosy and warm and we were seated at a very confortable table. There was enough room for everyone to fully enjoy the dinner. The place wasn't too noisy and it was really enjoyable to be able to talk casually to everyone at the table without the need to raise your voice at all. I ordered the sliced beef with rice, soup and salad. The service was really fast, the waitress nice and polite. The food arrived shortly and smelled amazing. It was very satisfying to cook the beef myself and to be able to enjoy the meat just as I like it. The qualituy of the meal was excellent and the beef was litterally melting on my tongue. The salad was paired with a really nice sauce and suits the meat to perfection, it was a really nice side dish if you eat it with the beef. The soup was really tasty and burned my mouth in a very positive way. The rice was served with a sauce (but I sadly forgot the name of it) that actually gave the rice a surprising texture twist. I would recommend everyone visiting Shibuya to try it. As we were finishing our meals we all agreed that it was very filling. None of us was hungry anymore after the beef and rice combo that comes at a very reasonable price. The experience was overall very good and the only downside was the queue that we had to face (we didn't had any reservation tough). A very nice restaurant in the Shibuya...
