My recent visit to Barbacoa Grill in Shibuya left me feeling disappointed, primarily due to the uneven service and subpar food quality. As someone who enjoys exploring different cuisines, I had high hopes for a flavorful steak experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.
One of the most noticeable issues was the attitude of the staff towards foreign customers. While I understand that cultural differences can influence interactions, it felt like there was a distinct disparity in the level of warmth and attentiveness shown to local patrons compared to those of us from abroad. This inconsistency in service created an uncomfortable atmosphere, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal.
When it came to the food, the steak was a significant letdown. I ordered my steak cooked medium, but it arrived well-done, lacking the juicy tenderness that one expects from a quality cut. The texture was tough, making it challenging to enjoy. To add to my disappointment, the seasoning was bland, devoid of the robust flavors that should elevate a good steak. Instead of savoring a well-seasoned, flavorful dish, I found myself wishing for even a hint of the bold flavors typically associated with a grill.
The overall dining experience felt disjointed, with the combination of the staff's indifferent demeanor and the lackluster food leaving a sour taste. I had hoped for a vibrant atmosphere that complemented a hearty meal, but it fell short on both fronts.
In summary, my experience at Barbacoa Grill in Shibuya was not what I had anticipated. The attitude of the staff towards foreign customers and the disappointing quality of the food, especially the improperly cooked steak, detracted significantly from the experience. While I understand that not every visit can be perfect, the combination of these factors made it difficult to recommend this restaurant. If you're in the area, it may be worth looking for other dining options that offer both attentive service and...
Read moreI don't like leaving negative reviews, but in this case, it seems necessary. We are a foreign family living in Japan and have visited hundreds of restaurants across the country. This is probably the worst experience we've had at any of them.
We ate at this restaurant a few years ago and had a good experience. The food was delicious with allergens clearly marked. We were looking forward to returning for a family celebration.
We arrived at our reservation time. When the staff member entered the reception area, she walked right past me and helped the Japanese party that came in after us. When I pointed out that she had skipped me in line, she didn't apologize and still seated the party behind me first. This was surprisingly rude and not at all what we've come to expect in Japan.
When I made our online reservation, I selected the "Special Plan" Salad Bar Lunch for ¥2700/each. This was supposed to include salad, meat, and dessert. At our table, we were told that the Lunch Plan including meat was actually ¥4800/each. We showed the online price (which is still on the website, listed as a special price from June 18-July 19) to the server and manager. The manager's response (translated to English by the server) was "I'm sorry, this is our mistake, but you will still have to pay ¥4800." This is almost double the price listed online!
The food was good, but the poor service soured the experience for my family. I suggest spending your money elsewhere. The service in Japan is normally fantastic, and you will almost certainly be treated better...
Read moreThis Brazilian style meat restaurant or churasco is one of my favorite places to pig out on beef in Tokyo! I have been to several of the locations, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ebisu and they were all a great experience.
I forgot to take many pictures because I’m typically to busy eating 😅. They have lunch specials that go from 11 -2pm for about ¥3,800 I believe but it’s listed on the website. If you want to enjoy the lunch special then I would suggest making a reservation in advanced as it seems to get pretty booked up so we ended up having to make a reservation for 11:45am. The dinner is around ¥5,000 yen.
As a heads up the lunch special only comes with one drink so if you want more than one it will cost extra. As far as dinner, they have an all you can drink soft drink option or alcohol option. You can also pay for drinks Individually if you would like.
There time is about 90minutes for all you can eat. There is a salad bar, rice and even a small desert area. The staff brings around the various meats (Chicken, Beef and Chicken) on sticks and you can eat as much as you want during the time period. They have a piece on the table to flip if you want them to come or stop.
I mainly eat the beef because I’m an avid beef lover but I also love the grilled pineapple, it’s usually so sweet!!
Overall, whenever I have a little extra money to treat myself to beef. This is my...
