Borrachos Sangenjaya — Restaurant in Tokyo

Tl;dr: Food was very below average. 3 tacos, 1 burrito, a coke and beer came to ¥6000.

Con: Tacos: Overly small (think size of a palm). Got the chilli con carne, chicken and beef. All of them were quite dry. Chilli con carne lacked fattyness and umami, chicken was poached then pulled, maybe with some citric juice for acidity; overall quite plain. Beef was sweet, with no additional flavours to balance it out. Aromatics and extras that came, namely the tomato was overly ripped and close to being off (refer to photo). Lime was dry.

Burrito: came out 15 mins after the tacos and was a sopping mess, fell apart as soon as my partner went to pick it up which meant they started assembling it as they made the other parts of the filling leaving it to soak.

Restaurant also has a cover charge per person and a one drink minimum per person too (starting at ¥400) hence a coke in a full cup of ice.

Overall it's hard to not feel like you got scammed when the food is the worst you've tasted after being in Tokyo for over a month and eating out every meal.

This place was horrible. I would rate it less than 1 star if I could. The food portions are SO tiny yet SO expensive. The enchilada had cabbage in it, tasted and felt like microwave food, and had no flavor whatsoever (to the point where hot sauce was the only thing I tasted…) it was also super dry. There’s hidden fees everywhere, usually tax is put on as a whole on the meal but tax was put onto each individual item. When we asked for the check, instead of giving us a breakdown of the cost they gave us a tiny piece of paper with only the final amount handwritten, scribbled on it. There was a table charge and apparently every person has to get a drink so that’s another charge that they don’t tell you about until it’s kind of too late. For 4 tiny tacos and a tiny enchilada, we paid over 5,500 yen which is crazy in...

I waited 15 minutes for a chicken quesadilla while other tables that came in after me were getting their food. My friend and I had to remind them about it. There’s a ¥330 charge per person even though the appetizers were mini tortillas with chili on them, and there are mandatory drink orders that you still had to pay for of a similar price to the entrance fee. ¥4,300 total just for 2 people. The staff had an awful attitude as well. One bumped into my friend and didn’t even say excuse me. Don’t waste your time going here unless you like feeling...
