BUNMEIDO CAFE Nihonbashi Shop — Restaurant in Tokyo

We were introduced to Chef by an acquaintance and used them for our company welcome party.

This bright and lovely lady employee listened very carefully to our meetings and came up with some wonderful ideas for the welcome party.

For example, she made the company name and stuck it on the champagne bottle for the toast, and printed the company's product name on the coasters. For dessert, as agreed, we were served a decorative plate with the names of the welcome guests. To everyone's surprise, the little flags on the plate were designed to look like two-sided and three-dimensional product characters. It was the most detailed presentation we'd ever seen. Which made it the best ever.

The food was more than enough, which we were a bit worried about as it was a café for women, as the location is a bit off the beaten track, male-dominated group. The food was also very tasty.

I would definitely recommend it for special meetings.

We returned after a year's absence. When I made the reservation, I told them what I wanted and they kindly gave me a table at the back. Once again we received the same great hospitality, with a coaster printed with the logo of the company I work for and even a flag on the food. We were sorry to arrive later than planned on the day of the event. The seats were full with group customers, young and old. Everyone knows exactly what a great restaurant is, I am always impressed. We will definitely book again and come back...

東京メトロ三越前から徒歩約1分の文明堂カフェへ日曜の17時頃に2人で行って来ました♪

食べログ百名店に選ばれているためです♪

さすが店構えから明るくとても綺麗で、入口近くは、文明堂と言えばカステラ等のお菓子の物販店となっていました♪

またカフェの入口には、カステラの歴史や文明堂の歴史の説明があり、分かりやすく素晴らしいです♪

文明堂は長崎市で1900年（明治33年）に創業で、1922年（大正11年）には東京へ進出し、1925年（大正14年）に宮内省御用達となり、1937年（昭和12年）には伝説のキャッチフレーズ「カステラ1番、電話は2番、3時のおやつは文明堂」が誕生し、各地域の電話局の「2番」を買い揃えていたとは知りませんでした！ 語呂合わせで、そして電話よりカステラが一番という訳ではなく、当時加入数は少なかったであろう電話局の「2番」を買い揃えていたとはナルホドです！

そしてカフェに入りますが、さすが人気店で、待ち行列があり3番目でしたが、5分ほどで店内に入れました♪

席数は60席ほどで、左奥にある席に案内され、席の横にあるカゴに荷物やブルゾンなどを入れます♪

店内は明るくとても綺麗で上質感があり、特に奥の3〜4人用のソファもとても良さそうでしたね♪

また窓には可愛い文明堂のマスコットも置かれていました♪

店内BGMはピアノジャズ等が静かに流れていましたね♪

メニューを見て以下を注文し、2人でシェアしました♪

・文明堂ハヤシライス1,300円税込の大盛り+100円税込 ・イチゴのカステラサンド1,100円税込 ・ダージリンの紅茶480円税込 （食事やデザートを注文の場合は、カフェやソフトドリンク等がどれでも480円税込で提供）

まずは、ダージリン紅茶が運ばれます♪ 3分の砂時計の砂が落ちてから注いでくださいとのことで3分待ってカップに注いで頂きました♪ おぉぉさすが甘さも感じる上質なダージリンでこれは美味しかったですね♪ たっぷり量もあるのも良かったです♪

そしてイチゴのカステラサンドが運ばれます♪ さすがイチゴも大きくイチゴ生クリームもたっぷり入り、それらをカステラで挟むサンドイッチで、これも上質さを感じ甘く美味しかったですね♪ これは紅茶にも合います♪

そして文明堂ハヤシライス大盛りが運ばれますが、おぉぉこの大盛りがデカい！！ この大盛りはとても嬉しかったですね♪

黒いソースの中に5つほど入った大きな牛肉がしっかりと煮込まれてトロトロと柔らかく、甘さを感じる玉ねぎやマッシュルームも入り、コクもありこのハヤシライスは絶品でしたね♪ ライスには麦も少し入りヘルシーで、その上にはトロトロ半熟卵も乗って、ハヤシライスはそれらマリアージュがとても美味しかったです♪

新鮮なレタスサラダもたっぷりありましたね♪ この文明堂ハヤシライスはぜひぜひ大盛り+100円税込を頼むべきです♪

It was worth trying, as the crunchy outside and soft middle provided a nice balance, and the ice cream and syrup helped it to be sweet enough to enjoy. It was a bit expensive though.
