We got to the hotel a bit early, so concierge/clerk Ms Morita checked our luggage into the secure storage rrom while we explored the area a bit. We'd been in Tokyo at another hotel a week prior, and it was our 3rd trip to Japan, so not newbies. There is a station on the Sobu Line imediately around the corner, and the JR Kanda station on the Yamanote line is only a 10 minute walk away. Tokyo station is a brisk 20 minute walk (take the Sobu line). The hotel is well maintained, extremely clean and fresh, and both elevators come quickly. There are tall buildings all around, so the view lower down isn't great, but you wanted to wave to a neighbour across the street in the office tower you could do so easily. There is an artifical onsen on the 2nd floor, which is a MUST for the weary traveler. Same rules apply, shower/bathe first, men and women are separate, no tattoos, and take your room towels down with you or ask for extras at the front. Nearly everyone going to the onsen wore the hotel pajamas and slippers. There's a locker with key for all patrons, no extra fee. Upon checkout we had to store our luggage again as our flight wasn't leaving until evening, and again Morita-san stored our luggage. She also helped me send our pocket-wifi units back to the rental agency as we'd lost the return envelopes. They can ship by Yamato or JPS from the front desk. Morita-san's English is superb, she joked with us and made us feel very welcome. Easily the gem of the trip and we'll be returning here when we come...

Read moreMany reasons to give this grade. As an experienced traveller this is one my worst hotel experience : |- Staff does not speak English or pretends not to, to rip off customers. I found the staff very very rude. |- due to a mistake in my booking I had to pay 8000 yen per night to add a guest (despite this being a room with two beds , with capacity to host 2 persons) this amounted to almost a whole night because we stayed 7 days in this hotel. I tried discussing with the staff , saying I agree to pay but to lessen the price a bit. They would not make a gesture. They argued that if I were staying during the Spring season , I would have paid more money and hence I deserved to pay the extra. This was a rip off , a scam really. This has never happened to me before. |- check out is at 10 am. Never seen that ! Even in other places in Japan|- they will not make your room if you leave your room late. You have to be out your room before 10 am for them to make up the room. |- shower is small, very humid. Our shower did not have any cold water only hot. We had to have an intervention to regulate the problem but it did not solve it. |- there are only three laundry machines and they take 2 hours to be done. This means a lot of waiting time to get a machine available. Price is 500 wons. |- far away from GINZA line 10mn walk. |- limited food options in the area. Food at the mall open at 11am.||Over all I do not...
