The steak reminded me of a steak I made when I didn't quiet know how to make them, the sear was done on low heat, and on the grill for too long at that heat. I expected a medium rare and found that it was brutally rare, with poorly rendered fat, the steak knife dull, could barely cut in to it. I cut it in half to reveal the rareness, but they corrected my cut, and I appreciated the effort to fix the two halves, yet it still wasn't up to mark. There were many people in our group, perhaps more than any usual occasion, as such the chef or their line must have suffered from the pressure. I cannot judge them having consumed just one steak, perhaps it was just a bad night. My score is for the food I ate, not the chef behind it.
Steak: 5/10
The cheesecake was simply exceptional, the timing of the setting allowed the center (the tip of the slice), to have a soft creamy consistency that collapses under it's own weight when set apart from the slice. Outer edge was thick and dense, but not awfully so, it was perfection that would make any fan of cheesecakes tear up with joy as they may never taste such a cheesecake again. The cream on the side added nothing to the flavour, but the jammy sauce worked great as to add a sweet berry contrast that was just right. It was a cheesecake that didn't make you question what a good cheesecake was, it answered what an ideal cheesecake can be. So with a very careful consideration, I have no choice to give it a perfect...

I had a really nice meal at The Steakhouse. I had the Caesar salad, sourdough bread and butter, 200g A4 Wagyu Sirloin, and mashed potatoes. And finished everything.
A few areas for improvement.
The Ceasar left a lot to be desired. The bacon didnt seem very high quality, and the dressing was very light and runny for a Caesar.
The steak came with the house sauce already on it and the plate. I personally found the sauce too sweet and felt it took away from the meat flavor, so i asked for a steak without it. They took the steak back and did return the same steak without the sauce, but due to the time it took and trying to keep the steak from getting cold, the steak was now medium instead of medium rare. I think for the price you are paying, there is no reason to put sauce on a high quality steak directly, and just make me a new steak that will be the correct temperature.
The bread could have a little more of the sourdough flavor. Personal preference
Overall, really good spot. Not perfect, and there is room for improvement but the staff is very attentive and the quality of meat is definitely there.
My meal above cost 22,000 yen...
Read moreI recently dined at The Steakhouse at the ANA InterContinental Tokyo and opted for the Tokyo Set Menu, upgrading the meat to Wagyu A5 for the premium experience. While the steak itself was flavorful and tender, the rest of the dishes fell short of expectations. The presentation was visually impressive, but the flavors were surprisingly bland and lacked the depth I anticipated, especially considering the high price point, the same goes for the preparation of the fish, which was overcooked.
As a tourist in Tokyo, I was looking forward to a memorable meal, but at over ¥50,000 for the set menu with just one glass of champagne and one glass of Pinot Noir, the value for money simply wasn’t there. At this price level, I expect outstanding quality across all courses, not just the main dish.
That said, the service was impeccable—polite, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. While the staff delivered an excellent experience in terms of hospitality, the food itself didn’t justify the premium pricing.
If you're considering dining here, I’d recommend coming for the Wagyu A5 steak but managing expectations for the rest...
