Reservations are required here. Not quite sure if you can order other food items here aside from the homage course (they do have a menu for other food items). You are required to order 1 drink each aside from the homage course.
We did enjoy the course meal. Do note that portions are adjusted to your party, so what you see from my photos are not necessarily the same amount to be served to you. We all especially loved the Chicken Pumpkin Pie (it was served, I think, before dessert).
It was pricey yes, but the food quality was great, you can taste the freshness in the ingredients and the dishes' distinctive taste. It was fulfilling and every one of us walked out with our tummies full 😆❤
Couldn't get a ticket for Ghibli Museum, so this one was a real nice alternative! It was quiet enough to hold conversations. They also accommodated us when we came in a bit earlier. Told us we can roam around to take pictures while no one was around. They were also helpful enough to take group photos of us! ☺
It was quite an experience alright. At least try...
Read moreWildly expensive - the meal set is Totoro salad, miners soup from castle in the sky, pirate meat from castle in the sky ,the fish pie from Kiki's delivery service, and chocolate soot sprites for dessert Totoro salad - delicious, local, fresh, incredible Miner soup - weirdly tomato based with mismatching vegetables, not very flavorful and just odd tasting Pirate meat - served with the center raw - we sent it back to be cooked again Fish pie - actually contains chicken, not fish , and has olives in it - odd but delicious Soot sprites dessert- delicious! It's a lot of food - almost a little over filling Plan to be done by 6pm because the neighboring store is a music venue and it gets very loud and troublesome
I think it would be a more Ghibli experience to cook the meals oneself and share with friends Staff do not speak English so if you don't speak Japanese be prepared to use Google translate and struggle a little. If you do speak Japanese they chat with you a...

Atmosphere was amazing. Decor is tasteful and immersive. Lots of fine details that Ghibli fans and friends of would appreciate. Even children can enjoy the decor in the large number of character plush toys.
Service was good. Staff were mainly Japanese speaking, but they tried their best to accommodate to us being English speaking. They specifically sent their staff that was best able to speak English to help us along the way.
The staff even took the effort to ask for our favourite Ghibli film, and brought various models and items they had related to the film to our table for us to enjoy. He even introduced the special dishes that had significance to different films.
The restaurant usually gets crowded and has most of it's tables pre-booked. We were however lucky enough to get a walk in table. Consider making a reservation for best chances and to be able to get their special set menus only...
