I walked in with a sense of excitement. This was it, the flagship CDG store of all CDG stores. First impression, extremely organized and well laid out store.
I approached the Play section and standing there was a middle aged man, folding and steaming clothing. He greeted me with big smile and at that point I knew this was a different CDG store. I quickly showed him the few items I was looking for, but unfortunately it was sold out. He took his time to show me other items that I might be interested in and really dove in to the whole brand and what makes one item unique from another. He was passionate about his job and his attitude was second to none in being helpful, friendly and knowledgable. He was not pushy at all and did not come off as pretentious at any point. I walked out with a purchase and a big smile. He also gave me a rain bag in case it was going to rain later on.
If you were to go any one CDG store, go to this one. It's a lot more welcoming than other CDG stores...
Read moreCame during April to look for CDG play T-shirts, it was sold out so fast that there’s almost 0 stocks left.
However, I’m not sure if its a marketing strategy or what, but from my experiences from searching high and low in Tokyo for this, they usually leave only 1-2 display pieces out. They will say that it is the last piece, if you purchase, after 30 mins to 1 hr, they will display another piece out again. It might be a different size or design but the sales person always say that there are 0 stocks left.
But I experimented this a few times with different stores especially the smaller CDG play stores, it’s a luck game. If you’re lucky, you’re able to find something you like with your size but usually there’s only 1 piece.
You can ask them when do they restock and queue for it on that day to save time. I wasted 4 days in Tokyo just looking for this...
Read moreYou can not fit the shirts!
So first, it’s a beautiful store really. But you can’t fit the shirt from the play collection. And they don’t offer sample shirts or something else to try the fitting. I know the shirts are popular, but this is ridiculous. Unless you now exactly what size you have and know how a shirt will suit you, don’t go here. A visit to this store makes me not wanna buy any CDG at all ever again. I’m sorry but if you can’t try something on, you don’t get the basics of providing service right. Staff was very...
