About 25 seats in an almost art nouveau atmosphere. Plain walls with modern art in a few paintings. Quiet, even after they turned on the TV. An indian movie, but not the usual frantic kind of Bollywood thing. Kind of a complicated menu, and a bit more expensive, but sort of to be expected in a South Indian place. Curry Leaves in Oshiage is a hidden gem for anyone craving real Kerala-style South Indian food in Tokyo. Located conveniently near Tokyo Skytree, this cozy spot offers a taste of home for Malayalis and an unforgettable culinary experience for anyone new to Kerala cuisine.
We tried the Kerala porotta with beef curry — absolutely superb! The porottas were perfectly flaky and soft, and the beef curry was rich, flavorful, and authentically spiced. We also had appam with mutton curry and the mutton biryani — all of which were spot on. Every dish reminded us of home-cooked meals from Kerala.
The prices are reasonable, the portions generous, and the service is warm and welcoming. Chef Lenin, the Malayali chef behind these delicious dishes, is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about what he does. You can truly taste the love and tradition in every bite.
Highly recommend Curry Leaves for anyone looking for authentic South Indian/Kerala...
