Double Tall — Restaurant in Tokyo

Not great. I had the lunch set: choice of main with optional (pay extra) sides and a drink only or you could get a drink and a cake. Main with a drink and cake the cost around ¥1300 (slightly less if you don't get the cake). I chose the beef stew... Not really what I know to be a beef stew. I guess this was a Japan version?? Quite runny and greasy. Tasted a little pre-packaged too. For the cost & quality = expensive. The only saving grace was the chocolate cake - not terrible, but really needed a layer of ganache to help tip it into the 'good' side of my opinion as it was a little dry and needed something to elevate it. My latte was borderline drinkable - tasted a bit burnt. I would give 1.5 stars mostly because of the cake, but you can't give half stars so...

Food is good, served quickly. Lunch was 1,400 yen and you can add a salad, drink, and dessert (the affogato wa recommended to me) for not much more. The service is also friendly. The location is great, in the middle of Harajuku. The ambience feels nice, a very intimate coffee shop, with good background music but you don't feel out of place having an alcoholic drink. Good latte and decent cheesecake. Unfortunately, the service was poor. Two of us went for a visit and only one of wanted a coffee/drink. One latte and one cheesecake was ordered. While waiting, the server came back over and told us that it was required for me to get a drink in order for me to stay. There were no reasonably priced options and I really didn’t need a drink. This whole experience made for a less enjoyable experience...
