El Torito Ikebukuro Nishiguchi — Restaurant in Tokyo

We tried here for dinner after I was craving some Mexican food, which seems hard to come by in Japan. It was great! We loved the dishes - tasty, good value for money, well-presented, served quickly - and the atmosphere of the restaurant and all the little decorations and things. It was easy with small children with a very affordable children’s menu with several different options. I’m currently pregnant and was grateful to have a choice of mocktails on the menu. I’ll leave my review at five stars, but a little more attentiveness from the staff would have been welcomed as we weren’t offered a high chair and it was hard to get the attention of the staff when we needed it. I’d also love to see more themed restaurants in Japan offer colouring sets for children as it would have been fun to colour in...

Not sure where others reviewers have eaten Mexican food but this was not good.

Had no expectations it would be authentic, just hoped it would be similar to regular mediocre American TexMex Mexican.

Like tacos with cheddar cheese and such. The stuff chubby Americans like to down with a few bad Tecate cerveza, but no, it did not come close to the mediocre texmex from a strip mall in Buffalo

I come here first thing when i come to ikebukuro 4-5 times a year. Its a thing, I look forward to it. For the first time the food was of poor quality. The taco shells tasted like they were left out for a week. After the 19 hr flight i manged to eat 1-1/2 of the 3 but couldnt choke the rest down. The taco fillings were fine, just the hard as plastic shell…. I felt really bummed when i left there for the first time, it has always been so good. The enchilada is actaully spicy which is harder to find than one might think. The server wasnt too happy either for some reason, so I dont know what is up with this place.
