🦪 Hokkaido Seafood Ichiba Gangan – Oysters & Izakaya Vibes near Shinagawa
Right by Shinagawa—nearly a secret spot—Gangan brings the best of Hokkaido seafood to Tokyo. Think oysters, uni, salmon roe, crab... all fresh from Akkeshi or Hakodate straight to your plate.
The place feels like a snug izakaya: warm lighting, honest food, and a sake selection that'll surprise you—because the owner is a certified sake sommelier who pairs drinks like a pro.
What makes it special:
Top-tier oysters year-round from the “holy land of oysters” in Hokkaido—rich, creamy, unforgettable.
Gangan-yaki (steamed oysters in a can)—their signature, rustic and fun.
Uni, crab & roe bowls—pure treasure bowls packed with flavor.
Cozy vibe that’s perfect for small groups or date nights, with thoughtful sake pairings.
Quick takeaway:
I’m talking oysters as good as you’d find in Hokkaido—without the flight. Great drinks, even better seafood, and a vibe that’s relaxed but nice enough for a memorable meal.
Pro tip: Try the Gangan-yaki and finish with the uni/crab/roe bowl—pair both with...
