Came by this restaurant during a sumo tournament, the area nearby the stadium was crowded so I was not expecting to find room but it was quite easy to get seated.
The tournament was displayed on TV inside the store so it was quite nice atmosphere with the staff and some locals cheering during some actions.
The sushi was good but not extraordinary, prepared in front of you by the chefs, however you couldn’t see the whole preparation due to decorations placed in front.
Upon entering there was an odd welcome from the staff, as if they were saying “are you sure you want to eat here ?”
A feeling that was confirmed after ordering: Service was somewhat awkward due to language barrier, although they provided an English menu , communication was tedious despite my attempts to speak Japanese or even using a translation application.
I wanted to order more and try different things but the staff was sending out odd vibes of “finish your meal and leave” which I ended up doing quickly.
Also noticed the same behavior towards other foreigners while I was eating, a couple was trying to ask how to say “split the bill” in Japanese and were quickly expedited with a “half and half” from the chef.
Overall the experience was average, food is ok, service heavily impacted by language barrier, and the atmosphere is what you’re looking for if you want to try a Japanese...
Read moreWent there on the last day of me and my friend in japan. Was near the hotel and we didn't expect much. But it was absolutely the best place we ate the entire trip. Besides the fresh fish and incredible quality of the food that we saw almost everywhere, what gave us the best restaurant experience we had was the sweet old man who made the sushi behind the counter. His skills were very impressive, and his warm and kind attitude brightened our day. We ordered the set for 4-5 because we were starving, and we barely managed to finish about 80% of it. We talked a bit to the old man, and when he found out there was something in the set that neither of us really liked, he surprisingly replaced it with an eel Nigiri that was the single best piece of sushi I ate in my entire life. The food was incredible, but the people really made the experience divine. When I come back to Japan, I will definitely go out of my way to come back...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a top-notch sushi experience, this gem right in front of the JR station is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm and friendly service.
The sushi was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh—you can truly taste the quality and care in every piece. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just looking to try something authentic, their menu has something for everyone. Speaking of the menu, they offer one in English, which made ordering a breeze for us as visitors.
A big bonus: they accept credit cards, making it super convenient for travelers who may not carry much cash.
In short, this place combines amazing food, a welcoming atmosphere, and traveler-friendly conveniences. I highly recommend stopping by—you...
