This is a very good hostel, the staff is very nice, the subway is pretty near, and there are many places where you can go and grab something to eat. The rooms are in western or japanese style, with futons, but their futons aren't so confortable as others I've tried throughout Japan, and also the futon room smells like it was closed for too much time. This is the only negative point I'd care about. The common room where you eat breakfast and the kitchen are clean, as also the bathrooms and showers. The breakfast has not so many choices, but you can have as many slices of bread and eggs as you like, so I'd say it's pretty convenient all considered. The area of Asakusa is really nice to explore, and therr are also many "sento" near the hostel for you to realx every evening. Really good balance between price and quality: suggested to young people and easy travellers!

pIt was the first Anne Hostel in Tokyo (Yokozuna is the newest one). They provide a free breakfast which is a great value for us. Friendly reception staff which some of them was working in Anne Hostel Yokozuna as well. I have a late midnight check-in and their staff, Shimpei, was really friendly to assist me during the process. A quite big living-room was so a great place to get social interaction with other guests. Even the location was in the alley, it was safe during the late-night walk.

Nice place, cozy atmosphere. Stayed in a twin room, the bed looks very solid and doesn’t make noise 😃 Private plug and curtain. Good wifi and ac Clean Free BASIC breakfast Nice common room suitable for meeting fellow travelers. A bit of trouble to check in between 11pm and midnight (yet it’s clearly written on their Hostelworld page) and no check in after midnight.

I stayed with my cousin in eight bed female dorm. The place was not difficult to find , but deff not easy to get with luggages. It's cramped and a bit hard to open my large baggage . Bathroom and toilet are right in front of the rooms, convenient. Common room/ dining room are small, but breakfast was provided for free. |One little displeased I experience was from one of female staff (her bed had no name... and later other staff confirmed she is a hostel staff). Anyway... she happen to sleep /living in the dorm that i rent. She always got pissed even tho we already whispering .... 10pm up (it's a dorm, I know the rule and it's common sense especially if someone else is sleeping). I was always back to hostel around 9 or 10 and she already in the bed. I ended up always worried that I will pissed her off even for manage my stuff... imagine... I got stressed out on mu vacation , LOL. She even gave my cousin a stingy eyes for packing to check out for tomorrow morning ... again we know the rule ... it's a dorm... but then how we suppose to packing plus is not that late... 10pm or 11pm. Plus No elsewhere to do packing and it's not like we are chatting audible the whole process . ||Other staffs were nice and helpful... so only that particular one ( which I luckily never met directly on the lounge room)||And.... two times... there's slipper/s on my cousin bed , I just took pic for the second incident😅I wonder who done that. ||I did told another staff about those incident, and hopefully they fix it. |Fiuh .... The most drama experience I got in...

I m a bit experienced concerning youth hostels in Asia. Unlike in other asia metropolis, in tokyo one is really dependent on a affordable youth hostel instead of a hotel. I can really say, with Anne Hostel I picked a very good and cheap place. The place and its bathrooms are clean, the staff is nice and polite (they helped with my lost luggage, messed up by china eastern airlines) . In the beginning I felt intimidated by the many rules u have to obey, but I guess thats kind of normal. Worth mentioning is the handy shelf for storing your suitcase on, which everybody has installed at end of each bed. Additionally u will get a little locker, where u can keep valuable things. Btw WiFi is free (If u need Wifi downtown, go to Starbucks and sign up to get the log in) It was never so easy and confortable for me to stay in a youth hostel. The location is also ok. Asakusabashi Stn is just a 3-5 min hike away. Going to Shibuay takes about 10-15min. Some words about the subway: It takes some time to get the hang of it. The network seems not so good laid out like in other cities, which is due to the fact, it s already older than other systems. Especially transfers can include long hikes to your onto train. But as soons as you get familiar to it, u enjoy every ride exploring this great city!

Well four days to short to get to every good spot. Guess I must come back. Anyway, if you search for a good and affordable place, chek out...

I feel bad writing a bad review because we were having a great time for the most part. I’ll start with the good. The facilities were nice, shower pressure was great and toilets were clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the common space was easy to meet other travelers. They also had video games you could play and a TV. It was about a 25 minute walk to the downtown area where the arcades and shops are.

The reason I’m giving this hostel a poor review is because of two things: the beds and the unannounced curfew. There were about 12-15 of us in the common space getting to know each other and having a great time when they kicked us out and said we had to leave. The reception closes at midnight but I was unaware of the common space closing at the same time and everyone else seemed surprised too. Because we couldn’t be loud, eat, or drink in our rooms, we were forced to go out or go to sleep. Someone working at the hostel was actually sleeping in the common space over night.

The second reason we’rethe beds - they weren’t even a mattress - it was a pad. Luckily I was traveling with my fiancé so we took my pad off the bed and doubled up and cuddled in one twin bed. It was still uncomfortable and our backs hurt the following day.

Overall I would not recommend this place if you enjoy sleeping...
