We made reservations to have our very first dinner in Tokyo at Kyubey, located on the 4th floor of The Okura Prestige Tower.

Could not have planned it better. As luck would have it, we sat at the counter in front of chef Shigihara-san. What followed was a superb omakase course, expertly prepared.

Chef Shigihara-san was very friendly to us and explained in detail each course. Other Japanese dinner guests were too very friendly. Days after this, we tried the main Kyubey restaurant located in Ginza and had a similar...

Branch of the 5 stars sushi Kyubey Ginza. Same quality here in the new wing of Okura Hotel Tokyo. Very good service and chefs are old and experience. On top, the chefs can speak some enlgish. Sashimi and Sushi are both excellent and ou can order ala carte which is the best way to enjoy sushi, order what you like..that's if you know how. These days, too many sushi place only offers omakase menu which IF goood is good, if not then bad luck....on top, not all items in the omakase you will...

Love this place, my hotel concierge booked it for my family of 5. They have 5 locations throughout the ginza area. My wife and I had the omakase while my kids enjoyed sushi ala carte. Kyubei is well known to be the best sushi in Tokyo without a Michelin star. I suspect they don’t have one is that they allow families with children to dine and order ala carte. It’s good as any Michelin sushi I had in Japan. Super kid friendly...

Executive lunch, done extreme quickly, within an hour. Relatively expensive. The sushi were smaller in size but will fill you up as pieces go on. If you are willing to splurge a little and want a fast lunch, then I would recommend it. If you would like to take your time, then this would not be the place for you.
