I had high hopes for gokita, and I have a feeling those with a love for traditional izakaya food will find the menu endearing. Unfortunately for everyone else this is probably a pass. The service was excellent, and the resteraunt itself was very nice. The food started off strong and that was about it. So many chicken dishes, and only one or two were any good. Texture was unfortunate on a lot of dishes. The grape plum and honey ice-cream desert, chicken liver, squid paella, white mousse, pear rabbit, and chicken rillettes were the saving grace. The drink menu was also very well curated. It felt like there was a sense of being in a izakaya that was being cultivated throughout the meal, dishes being reused, slowly getting dirty with complimenting flavors, slightly warm restaurant, ever increasing skewers.

Anyway, wish you would take my comments for improvement.

Read moreI had a fantastic experience at this one Michelin star yakitori restaurant. We were seated right away and the restaurant was really clean and visually appealing. The food came out one at a time and as you would expect on an omakase experience. I also got it with the wine pairing, which went well with every single thing that I ate. The yakitori was made perfectly. It was very flavourful and smoky. The ambiance was nice and perfect for a dinner date. It was a wonderful experience and I recommend it to all my friends and family! Highly...
