Hotel Villa Fontaine Jimbocho — Hotel in Tokyo

I needed a hotel stay as a plan B so I booked it (unfortunatelly had no time to read all the reviews) in the morning and arrived the same day. Opted for breakfast as I was traveling with a 5-years old son so this was a must.||Let me state the good thing first - the bed is very comfortable, staff is friendly (bad Englush though).||Otherwise - hotel is outdated and the breakfast is a joke. The description on the booking.com says "simple Western dishes". In reality, the staff at the reception gives you a box with two small sendwiches (ham and fried shripms) and a yoghurt. Youu can also select water, juice, coffee and black tea. So much about "western dishes".||You can eat it "in the lobby or in the room" as they tell you. In the lobby, there are no tables and the table in the room is big enough only for 1 person. Not to mention that there is only 1 chair in the room ...||Eventhough we were 2, my son didn't receive his own breakfast box. When they cleaned the room after the first day, they took one set of towels away and left us only one. What a shame.||The nearest metro exit is Nr. 5, but has no elevator or escalator. If you're coming with a heavy luggage, this might be a problem. Exit nr. 9 has elevator but is a bit further away...

First time I saw this hotel, it quite fancy & unique, its lobby is in LG (so you need to take the stairs // lift). The lobby is not that big nor small, it just fit & with a limited seat (only 12 ppl, i think), the chair provided is the 'bar-type' of chair (because maybe you are not supposed for too long at the lobby). They also let us to put our luggage before check-in and after check-out. The staff was nice, imo (because my tour leader said that one of them was not that nice).

And a bit letdown for the room, because it is the smallest compared to other 2 hotels I booked. Based on my friend's opinion, even you could not pray/'sholat' properly, you need to do it on the bed & which is would be more difficult if you are both Muslim in 1 room. Moreover, the TV is not freely for entertainment, you need to buy the film you want to watch in a vending machine in the lobby. There is actually a Japanese reality show (i think), but it is only for 15 minutes & the only one you could watch for free. I thought at least I could watch the news (or maybe there is a way, but me & my friend did not figure it out). In the room, they provide a cellphone that you could bring anywhere, so you could use it for internet, GPS, just in case...

Al cambio di Marzo/Aprile 2014, i 270€ a persona per 7 notti per una doppia economy al villa fontaine sono ben spesi.||La camera era negli standard giapponesi ma letto e bagno erano abbastanza ampi, con TV con molti canali gratuiti e video on demand, bollitore per l'acqua, bustine di té verde di due aromi diversi, caffé con filtro all'americana, ciabattine (troppo piccole per chiunque abbia un piede dal 41 in su), pigiami e in bagno tutto quanto necessario per la cura personale con water tecnologico, spazzolini, rasoi, shampoo, balsamo e bagnoschiuma e sali da bagno.||L'hotel, come molte altre strutture alberghiere in tutta la nazione, partecipa con un proprio programma ecologico alla riduzione delle emissioni e dell'uso di prodotti negli alberghi; in camera troverete 4 targhette magnetiche sulla porta che indicano i vari servizi di pulizia e ricambio delle amenità e esponendo la targhetta corrispondente fuori dalla porta si informa di quali non si desidera avvalere (per esempio si può richiedere di spegnere il condizionatore durante la pulizia o di non cambiare le amenità del bagno).||Se si prenota attraverso il sito dell'albergo tutti i piani prevedono la colazione che consiste in una scatola contente 4 tramezzini e una colazione salata (sono previste 3 varianti a rotazione giornaliera) da scaldare al microonde preimpostato e open bar con succo d'arancia, té, caffé, latte o panna per il caffé, zucchero o dolcificante e salviettine umide per le mani. Io ho trovato la colazione soddisfacente ma per le mie abitudini la mancanza di opzioni dolci ha portato alla necessità di acquistare un dolcetto ogni giorno dai vicini conbini.||Per quanto riguarda la posizione bisogna fare un discorso complesso, perché se la posizione è abbastanza centrale ed estremamente vicina a diversi tipi di attrattive non si può dire che l'albergo si faccia notare, soprattutto se non si sanno leggere i caratteri giapponesi sull'insegna, inoltre la zona di Ochanomizu/Suidobashi/Jinbocho non riesce a competere con le vicine Akihabara e Kagurazaka che per quantità di negozi la prima e ristoranti la seconda diventano mete obbligate per acquisti e pasti in zona.||Per concludere il personale è assolutamente gentilissimo e riesce ad esprimere in un inglese abbastanza comprensibile anche al telefono, anche se parlare in giapponese renderà la comunicazione...
