HARBS Azabudai Hills Store — Restaurant in Tokyo

HARBS是我每次去日本，只要有時間就一定會去的蛋糕店🍰，通常在東京都會去六本木分店，這是第一次去麻布台之丘分店，非常幸運被帶到靠窗的位置，超喜歡這裡的用餐環境，決定以後不去六本木了，都來麻布台之丘😆

我當時拜訪時的HARBS麻布台之丘店鋪限定是Berry Berry，和當時的六本木是一樣的，但也許因為麻布台之丘比較新，店員似乎也比較有熱忱？至少給我的感受是很棒的。商業午餐漲價了，但CP值依然是高的。

雖然我對於HARBS不能拍蛋糕櫃的規定多年以來都感到很疑惑，不過入店隨俗要當個不失格的旅人，但我就會對店員送上來的蛋糕「賣相」要求很高，謝謝麻布台之丘的店員幫我送上漂亮的蛋糕❤️

（其實我很疑惑HARBS蛋糕送上桌的SOP到底是什麼？有時候送上的蛋糕外層包著鋁箔紙就會讓我不開心，我以為麻布台之丘店不會有這樣的問題，看其他人評論似乎也有直接包鋁箔紙送上桌的？但大家會來HARBS除了吃好吃的蛋糕，拍漂亮的蛋糕橫剖面也很重要呀！）

希望下次再訪麻布台之丘的HARBS依然不會讓我失望💖

HARBS is the cake shop I always visit whenever I go to Japan, as long as I have time. 🍰 Usually, I go to the Roppongi branch in Tokyo, but this was my first time visiting the Azabudai Hills branch. I was incredibly lucky to be seated by the window, and I absolutely loved the dining environment here. I’ve decided that from now on, I won’t go to Roppongi anymore—I’ll come to Azabudai Hills instead! 😆

At the time of my visit, the HARBS Azabudai Hills branch’s limited-edition cake was “Berry Berry,” which was the same as the one in Roppongi. However, perhaps because Azabudai Hills is a newer location, the staff seemed more enthusiastic? At least, that was my impression, and I had a wonderful experience. The business lunch price has gone up, but the cost-performance ratio is still great.

Although I’ve always been puzzled by HARBS’ long-standing rule that forbids taking photos of the cake display, I respect local customs and try to be a well-mannered traveler. However, this also means I have high expectations for the presentation of the cakes when they are served. A big thank you to the staff at Azabudai Hills for bringing me such a beautifully presented cake! ❤️

(That said, I’m actually quite curious about HARBS’ standard operating procedure for serving cakes. Sometimes, the cakes are brought to the table wrapped in aluminum foil, which I find disappointing. I had assumed the Azabudai Hills branch wouldn’t have this issue, but based on other reviews, it seems that some cakes are still served with foil wrapping? Besides tasting delicious cakes, one of the joys of coming to HARBS is taking beautiful cross-section photos of them!)

I hope that my next visit to HARBS at Azabudai Hills will be just as wonderful!...

I thought it was a good restaurant when I saw a long queue waiting outside the restaurant. Turn out, it was the worst experience in this trip.

Can you believe cake was served before the main course? The waitresses even put down the bill. They were all too busy to find out only salad was served. After repeatedly requests,the fried rice with egg finally came. It was without temperature. Obviously it was left behind in the kitchen for some time. When we asked the waitress why, she simply said she would call the chef to talk to us. Enough. We did not want to waste our time further.

Because of the long waiting time, the cream inside the cake was melt down. What a shame!

Think twice if...

We waited about 30 minutes before being seated. We ordered their popular strawberry cream crepe cake and it tasted good! However, I gave the store only 3 stars cuz each guest is required to order a drink eating inside and it was not informed anywhere outside the cafe. We only found it out when ordering the food. Each drink was around 1000 yen ish, which it’s a bit overpriced imho, and I don’t appreciate how they force their guests to order the drinks. Keep that in mind if you decide to wait in line and...
