Gosh… this bakery is so good. Every single item I tried had that rare balance of simplicity and depth—nothing felt overdone, just honest, well-crafted bread.
The black soybean roll was my favorite: no cheese, no gimmicks, just soft, slightly chewy bread with beautifully cooked kuromame folded in. Subtle, comforting, and absolutely delicious.
I also tried a different item with red bean stuffing inside (sorry I can’t type Japanese), very tasty without being greasy or overly sweet.
You can tell they care deeply about technique and ingredients here. Even the most humble-looking loaf feels special. There’s often a line, but it moves fast, and it’s well worth the wait.

The shop's setup is strange, the counter is very long and you're supposed to tell the lone staff member which bread you want, but you can't see the bread until you get to the front of the line so everyone takes a long time to read the bread name & decide. I guess that's why it looks deceptively busy.
The ham & camembert baguette was delicious, but everything else I got was below average. Read moreI had been buying bread from this store for almost a year now, but I just learned from social media recently that the store accidentally sold bread with IRON WIRE in it to a tourist. I am extremely shocked at how casually they handle this issue without any compensation to victim or public apology. I cannot believe the Japanese food standard is so low and even worse than the street food in New York City.
