Tucked back in a quiet corner of Akasaka is a tiny—three or four seats at the bar and three tables—Thai restaurant called Hot Pepper 2. The decor and arrangement of the restaurant is not overly impressive, but the food, THE FOOD, is incredible. The first dish we tried is the papaya salad and it might be THE BEST papaya salad I have ever had. Truth be told, the papaya salad was so good—perfect crunch, nice level of sweetness, and the spice just slaps; be warned, this is Thai spicy, not Japanese spicy. my family and I found this place on Google! we arrived for lunch and the lady who I am assuming is one of the owners was very sweet, warm, and attentive! We ordered Tom Yam Soup, Pad Thai, and the rice with beef and it was all so delicious and authentic. Each dish came with cabbage soup and salad! The lady also offered us a variety of drinks like coffee and ginger ale. I will recommend the Tom Yam Soup especially because it was the perfect flavor. The service and atmosphere was amazing, definitely come here if you’re ever looking for authentic and...

One of the best places that I have eaten in the three weeks I have been in Tokyo. The owner/host is absolutely wonderful, and could not be more welcoming - seemingly whether you are a foreigner dining alone, or a group of locals. The food was delicious, the satay starter was very flavorful, and the green curry was wonderful - but quite hot! 100% recommended if you fancy a break from...
