Sushi Tanji was an AMAZING experience. We had a reservation for three people but our third got sick and couldn't come. I was completely ready to eat the money according to their policy, but the chef was kind enough to give us a small bento of the prepped sushi of what he could pack (even with a little ice pack!) and gave us both a little bit more sake for the three we paid for. Read moreFirst time being in Japan I wanted to try some Omakase sushi and this place did not disappoint.
The food was absolutely delicious and everything was done with such care and grace that it set the bar very high for any future I dining that I will be partaking in.
The place is small and intimate, with soft piano playing in the background while the sushi chef works his magic. I've also had the pleasure of participating in a traditional tea ceremony which involved fresh matcha from Kyoto and a delicious handmade dessert.
There was a selection of delicious sake that I've had the chance to pair with the sushi which elevated the whole experience to a new level.
Japan has been on bucket list for a while to visit and eating at this restaurant was the perfect conclusion to a very memorable trip.
I will definitely be back to eat at this restaurant next time I'm in Japan.
Thank you for your hospitality,...
