Lunch Buffet 🇮🇳🥘🦪 @nirvana_new_york
While there are hundreds of all-you-can-eat Indian curry lunch buffets in Tokyo, this is probably the most luxurious, and is more similar to a hotel buffet than your usual local restaurant. 🏨
With a prime location in Roppongi Midtown, there is ample seating indoors and when the weather is nice there are fantastic terrace seats which overlook the grassy area close to the Ritz Carlton. 🌴
Their lunch buffet provided a choice of 5 different curries, 2 different types of rice, a decent salad selection, hot appetizers, desserts and freshly baked naan brought to the table. 🫓
When booking the restaurant I had no idea but today is Oyster Tuesday, meaning that the buffet also contained delights such as roasted osyters with saag butter served in the shell, and a Goan curry full of thick juicy oysters bursting with umami. 🦪
Other highlights included their Butter Chicken curry which was also smooth & rich, and I loved their Daal curry which had just the right amount of salt & spice. 😋
I also enjoyed the fresh chicken tikka, pickled vegetables and the nuts & seeds on the salad section were a nice addition. 🥗🥜🌰
Unfortunately, as this was a business meeting, I didn't have enough time to sample any of the 6 different desserts but I will definitely be back to try them in the future. 🔁👌🏼

Read moreExtremely poor in taste, quantity, quality and hygiene.
Highly overpriced for the food they serve, not recommended for Indians with a good taste and knowledge of Indian food.
Interior was dirty and unhygienic for the place we were offered to sit, all sofas full of wet stains. We ordered curry naan biryani raita and samosa starter.
Out of this samosas were decent. Naan can pass.
Rest all was highly questionable on freshness quantity and authenticity.
Biryani was the poorest with extremely overcooked full of soggy mushrooms bitterly spiced rice, extremely heated only to be covered with raw pink (fresh cut ) onions a few bits. It was clear it was heated in microwave made many days earlier. Shame to call it a biryani 😕. Sorry not visiting ever again. No raita served with biryani. We were given small stainless steel bowls (good for serving curries in a plate) log vo are bhai January to eat biryani by the server.
Raita we ordered al cart was in a small shot glass only decorated with sprinkle of chilli, plain yogurt for amount of 3-5 spoons. Shameful again
Had two trips to this place one for course dinner in year 2015, once again yesterday due to nothing else available (Jan 2023), it has only gone worse...
Read moreWanted to take advantage of a dinner in a terrace on last days of summer so I decided to book for a week day dinner with the premium plan (around 7500 yen per person) with 3 hours all you can drink. Unfortunately weather was not good so ended up at an inside table facing the terrace. Our plan had a salad, 4 types of tandoori (chicken, beef, fish), biriyani chicken, two types of curry (butter chicken and vegetable one). Overall food was good even if portion were a bit small, I would have fancied more naan for instance. The ambiance was ok but not particularly typical (would expect more Indian like) and most likely because the venue is inside a poshy mall. Overall I would consider the place nice for a dating evening but honestly value for money was not there and if you are just looking for tasty Indian food at decent price I would...
