This was the absolute WORST experience I have EVER had in Tokyo so far!! First of all, we walked over half an hour to get here from our hotel because we love the Indian food in the US. We sat at our table for quite some time watching an Indian family get their order taken even though we were there 10 min before them. Finally we got our order taken then waited over 30 minutes watching the servers cater to all of the other customers and completely IGNORE us. Finally we realized that because we were the only foreigners in the restaurant with all other customers being Indian, we were not their priority. We finally got up to tell them we were leaving after waiting over 30 min for even as much as our bread to be served! The employee’s exact response was, “Ok that’s fine”….not an I’m sorry or oh no it’s just a few more minutes…. Nothing!!! They clearly don’t care if you are a foreigner. And actually it was meant to be as there was a HUGe dead rat we walked past right by the front...
Read moreChecked out this place during Wednesday lunchtime. Very small place for a quick bite. Very conveniently located within 5 minutes walk to Hilton Tokyo Shinjuku. Set menu varies by Day of week. Wednesday was Egg curry, kheema and cauliflower plus Naan and A leg of Tandoori chicken. It is not a high end restaurant ... just something quick. Most set menu lunches around $10 USD. Only mango lassi and sweet lassie.... no salt version like you get in the USA. I took the masala Chai ... it was good. Takes credit cards. Just to compare ... I had Dinner on Tuesday night at Ashoka ... which is right below the Hilton Tokyo. I would rate Asoka at 3.5 as the Tandoori chicken was stale and the meal overpriced at around $50 for a mini thali $$$ .... about 5X the cost of Khana without any real value add other than it...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of eating here recently. Siddique who greeted us was really friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive.
The quality of the food is really amazing and all the dishes we ordered were delicious. I highly recommend the tandoori chicken and seekh kebab starters. I always judge a place by how good their naans are and the ones here are super soft, fluffy and buttery. My compliments to the chef who happens to be from Calcutta.
Coming from the UK I thought the prices were very reasonable and we spent less than 5000 JPY for starters, 2 mains, naan, 2 rotis and rice. So lucky to have a halal place of this quality to eat...
