I had a very disappointing experience at this store. I visited during Christmas for their special reindeer canelé and waited outside for a long time, but no one came to assist us, nor was there any sign providing instructions.
When my friend and I finally selected a canelé from the individually wrapped ones and lined up to pay, a staff member scolded us, saying, “This is Japan, you can’t take this canelé!” They repeatedly emphasized “This is Japan” in a condescending manner, which was both shocking and upsetting.
As for the taste, it was very mediocre. The sugar crust on the surface was sticky and unpleasantly chewy, and the sweetness was insufficient. Overall, it was not worth the trip from Shinjuku just to try.
As a foreign visitor, I was deeply disappointed by both the service and the product quality. I highly recommend that tourists be cautious when choosing to visit this store. A little hospitality and clear guidance would go a long way in improving...
