This hotel turned out to be a great find — just a few minutes’ walk from the station, which makes getting around Tokyo super easy. The 24-hour check-in is a big plus, especially if you’re arriving late or have a flexible travel schedule. There’s also parking available behind the hotel (with a fee), which is pretty rare and convenient in Tokyo.
The room is slightly compact — typical for Tokyo standards — but honestly, it’s perfectly cozy for a couple or two friends. Everything felt clean, efficient, and just well thought-out.
One thing I really appreciated was the cleaning service options. You can go for the eco-cleaning plan, where they won’t clean the room but will replace your towels — and in return, you get a token for a free drink (soft drink or alcohol). It’s a smart way to encourage sustainability without sacrificing comfort. If you prefer, you can opt for a full clean, and they also do full room cleanings on specific days even if you’re on the eco plan (just check with the front desk when you arrive).
They’ve also got some solid extras: a public onsen (separate for men and women), laundry machines, and even an ice maker. Those little touches made our stay feel easy and relaxing.
Overall, Hotel Route Inn Grand Asakusabashi is a reliable, well-equipped base for anyone exploring Tokyo. It’s not flashy, but it’s smart, convenient, and has everything you need for a...

Read moreWe travelled for two weeks across Japan. You always have to remember as a foreigner as we were coming from Canada but the rooms are always going to be a lot smaller than what we are used to. There is usually a choice of two single beds or a double. Choosing the single bed seems to be a bit more spacious than a double Especially as a couple. Sometimes it was cheaper for us to choose triple rooms for some reason. In this case, we chose two single beds. Hotel lobby was very nice and the staff was very friendly. At the front desk all the amenities that you need such as toothbrush, hair comb, shaving cream, all that kind of stuff is there for your taking and your use. Our room is smoke-free however, to get to our room we did have to pass the smoking section which was a terrible smell. That would be the only downfall about the entire place. It was spacious and larger than any of the rooms we had in the past. It was within walking distance to the station. From the station it was a very very short, two or three stops right to Tokyo or any of the main attractions. I would definitely recommend staying here and I would stay here again. I don’t know if there was a breakfast option, but we did not choose it for this...
