Kushikatsu Tanaka Kichijoji — Restaurant in Tokyo

Dinner here is like getting invited to a noisy Osaka house party: except everyone’s eating deep-fried skewers instead of your roommate’s questionable chili. The vibe upstairs was buzzing, locals shoulder-to-shoulder, all of us dunking skewers into sauce like it was an Olympic event.

The food? Solid. Pork, chicken, lotus root, even cheese...if you can stab it, they can fry it. The highballs though? Dangerous in the best way. Crisp, cheap & flowing like tap water.

At one point, I broke the golden rule — “no double-dipping the sauce.” The table next to us caught me mid-forbidden dunk & instead of shame, it turned into a round of laughter & a toast across the aisle. Nothing bonds strangers faster than shared fried food etiquette violations.

This place isn’t fine dining, it’s fine living. You go for the skewers, stay for the highballs, and leave with the faint smell of fryer oil clinging to your jacket...which, honestly, feels like a...

Ever tried "Kushikatsu" (串カツ)? It's not just fried pork; you'll find a variety of skewered fried delights including vegetables, seafood, eggs, and different meats. It's fantastic with a cold beer.

While many international visitors might be familiar with yakitori, I highly recommend giving kushikatsu a shot during your visit to Japan.

This particular restaurant offers a unique dining experience called "chinchiro," where guests roll dice for a chance to win special offers. Although it might seem challenging without Japanese language skills, it's a fun and memorable way to enjoy your meal.

１回目：猛暑の中、開店から１時間経過した頃に訪問。席が空いているのに（リザーブでも出来るのか？）、店員が「満席ですので入店に３０分程かかりますから待っていて下さい」との事で並んで待っておりましたが、店内の様子では注文を受けてから４０分以上経ってもオーダーが来ていない状況で結局１時間経っても入店出来ず他の店にしました。 ２回目：２２時頃に訪問。前回の事があったので行くつもりは全くありませんでしたが取引先の誘いだったので何も言わずついて行きました。①串カツの種類はソコソコあった②ポテトサラダがスリ鉢で自分ですり潰すのは新鮮③ハイボールをサイコロで降ってぞろ目なら無料。端数なら２倍のジョッキ。偶数なら半額④私の家ではヘルメスの旨辛とウスターソースを使っているのですが、ここのソースは味に深みが無く薄いので２度漬けしたくなる。⑤客も店員もやかましいので大声で話さなくてはならない⑥喫煙所があったのは良かった⑦４人席から追加で５人とか６人で着席する時は周囲のテーブルに気を付けて欲しい。度々、席をぶつけられて不愉快だった。もう少しテーブルの間隔を広げたどうか。 共感された方は「いいね」をお願い致します。 Этот магазин заставил меня ждать более 1 часа, прежде чем войти в магазин.
