LANO'S Kamata — Restaurant in Tokyo

A small Italian eatery nearby my place, was looking to go here ever since moving to Japan. For 1100 yen (roughly 11USD) you get the Sirloin Steak bowl, miso soup and pickled radish on the side. Amazing deal for the price, the portions will in fact get you full.

For the Sirloin Steak, taste and freshness were excellent but something about the texture makes it feel less steaky and more hamburgery, still delicious though. Underneath is a light cabbage with a bit too much mayonnaise in my opinion but with the meat's juices it gives the bed if rice underneath a great taste.

Miso soup has tofu skins in it, best topping. And the pickled radish is exactly how it tastes everything else.

If you think you'll have trouble ordering, no worries, there's a menu inside you can point to and the outside has a photo of what you want. If you want the same thing I had, come during lunch and order the Sirloin Bowl Set.サーロインどん (pronounced like Sah-roy-n Don).

Visit for lunch on a weekday, after paying a visit to the nearby tax office. While practically all tables were taken, the turnover was pretty fast so I did not have to wait long at all to be seated.

The menu is somewhat limited during lunch house but all of the choices seemed very sumptuous. So, I had to go for the best-seller and try out the sirloin steak! It was cooked just right, and went well with the rice. You can get a refill of rice during lunch as well, so I took advantage of that.

Half of the people eating at the place were women, which says a lot of good things about the good balance of quality, price and quantity, if you’re in Japan. There was a good mix of what seemed like office people presumably working in the area and other people in casual clothing, some seemingly on dates even!

存在は知ってましたが、いつもなんと無く通り過ぎてしまって、先日改めてお店を観察すると、お得なステーキを提供してるのね。なるほど～で、後日ステーキ口状態で行ってみた。 口開けちょっと過ぎて入店も、もう満席状態ながら運良くカウンターに案内される。ふとランチメニューボードに目が行くと、おやおやこれは～！ステーキは一気に吹っ飛び即決で ハンバーグ牛煮込ソース・チーズ目玉焼のせグラタン風ランチを注文。

こんな心踊るワードが並んだ一品、見逃す訳にはいきません。ちょうど案内された席の前には、注文したハンバーグの皿が積まれている。仕込みは完了してるようで、注文が入った後トッピングしてオーブンで仕上げのもよう。 12時前だというのにほぼ会社員さんで満席。12時には列も出来てる人気店のようだ。で、注文はやはりステーキ類が圧倒的に多い。調理場を一人で捌く店主さんらしき人は、でかいフライパンで一度に数枚のステーキを焼きまくってる。テイクアウトも対応してて戦場のようだが、ホールの二人と三人で巧くまわしてる感じ。 おー、熱々満点で着膳されました。 最初の感想は「これでは絶対ご飯が足りん！」で、一応確認するとご飯の追加可とのことで、これで心置きなく向き合える。 先ずはバーグのみとフォークを入れると、なんと底にパスタが。グラタン風の所以はこれか～。もういうことなし。で一口。ジューシーでも肉感しっかり。ボリューミーで旨い。肉も少し入っているビーフシチューぽいソースとも良く合う。これと絡まって濃厚になったパスタがこれまた旨い。 卵とチーズと一緒にバーグを食すとコクが更に増してもう楽しい。当然ご飯ともバッチシで、勿論おかわり。何気に味噌汁が嬉しい。 最後はご飯投入、ハヤシライス風で締める。

もう大人のお子様ランチともいえる一品で世は満足じゃ。 会計時、おかわり分がなかったので指摘すると「おかわりはサービスで出来ますので大丈夫ですよ」と、まー有り難い。 次はステーキだ！という思いも、いざとなると自信がない。そんな...
