Wow just wow. This kebab wrap was possibly the best thing that has ever happened to me. The first thing that I must address is the service. The men working here have a special ability to attract customers with a simple exclamation uttered with such power and dominance, “BRO.” I myself am a victim of this tactic. When I got the chicken wrap it was so big my eyes nearly exploded with pure joy. The size, the portion, and the sheer majesty of the piece of art could make a grown man cry. As I sunk my teeth into the wrap the flavors of the sauce asserted itself into all crevices of my mouth. The rich and somewhat spicy sauce had a way to make my tastebuds feel mischievous. Next was the balance brought by the cabbage, ahhh the cabbage such a fruitful spruce of color and crunch. I almost couldn’t contain my excitement when the crunchy sensation seemed to bend my teeth over and strike it with a watery essence. Lastly was the chicken. The fresh and juicy chicken that was like a cascade of juices dropping down onto my taste bud. During the first bite the chicken was so tender and succulent that it seemed to give my mouth consent to sink my teeth deeper inside. We arrived in Tokyo late after a long journey from Osaka, and we were looking for a convenient dinner option near our hotel that served halal food. We found Mamo Kebab Restaurant and Bar, but unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. While the staff were friendly and the service was quick, the quality of the food was extremely poor. The chicken and beef kebabs were both overcooked and completely tasteless. The meat itself was of a very low quality, which made for an awful dining experience. What made the evening even worse was a serious hygiene issue. We noticed that some of the staff who were seated outside went directly into the kitchen to prepare food without washing their hands. This lack of basic cleanliness was very concerning and made our meal even more unpleasant. As a foreigner I have had my fair share of shawarma and being in a new country I was scared, confused, and lost… then I heard a cry from god “bro”.
