Matenrou Coffee — Restaurant in Tokyo

Loved the concept here - there's a different barista each day so every time you visit it's a different experience. When I was there, Barista Base (coincidentally, operated by the owner of Matenrou itself) and Smuth (desserts) were the concepts of the day.

Coffee was delicious, and had a creme brulee. The patisseur of Smuth puts an interesting twist on traditional desserts. The creme brulee that I had was a mix between a creme brulee and an ice-cream cake. Very yummy!

Cute coffee bar with great pour over coffee and cappuccinos. The small size of the place makes it cozy and intimate, and the barista was a master at his craft.

I had a wonderfully made iced pour over and my wife had a terrific cappuccino, which was both flavorful and gentle enough not to require sugar.

The iced Colombian pour over had fruity and citrusy notes that made it extra refreshing on a hot summer day.

Nice, small coffeeshop to escape the heat of Tokyo (in summer).

It's a small space, where you can sit in one of the five stools of the bar inside the shop.

The barista will prepare your coffee in front of you, from a small selection of single origin beans.

They also have a rotating selection of sweets to have with your drink.

It's one of the few good choices for coffee in that specific area of Tokyo...
